Wallet Threat Level

It’s not! It’s the new game from the folks who did Dead Cells.

It looks great, honestly, I’ll be lining up to get it once it leaves Early Access.

Interesting. Did they give up entirely on the Sands of Time remake? I want to see something like that.

Supposedly not, but it’s with a different studio and being completely reworked. I think there was some rough date at their most recent event, but it wasn’t imminent.

Destiny’s final expansion launches today. Considering how much of that game I played at both the launch of Destiny and then Destiny 2, it’s surprising to me that I have no interest in it. Not a wallet threat for me at all.

Game Pass:
Firework (June 4)
Rolling Hills: Make Sushi, Make Friends (June 4)
And probably some surprise releases later in the week during Xbox showcase

Any wallet threats for you this week?

Smurfs? Killer Klowns? Is this the 80s edition?

Are Smurfs still a thing? That reminds me of playing a Smurfs game on my cousin’s Colecovision when I was about 10 or 11. I kept dying just right at the start making what should have been a simple jump and kept wanting to smash the controller through the TV.

Exactly my reaction. I didn’t even go check the store page because I assumed it was EA. Woah.

I think Reus really nailed what it tried to do, but that a lot of people expected it to do something else!

Yeah, Field of Glory: Kingdoms released on Steam today.

I feel like I’m probably missing something that got surprised-released in the past few days in this Not-E3 week, which is probably a wallet threat maybe?

Here’s the Game Pass releases this week.

Depersonalization for PC (June 12)
Isonzo (June 13)
The Callisto Protocol (June 13)

This would be a threat, but I have the season pass, so… ;)

This would be a threat, but the regional pricing sucks, so I’ll probably wait for a sale.

  • Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch, PC)

Preordered. Looking forward to replaying this, never finished it on the Switch, which ran at 30FPS and still had a lot of framerate issues.

Poor wallet is quivering in fear at this one…

A new threat: there’s DLC for The Talos Principle 2 releasing this Friday!

I’m in heaven for the next 8 days!

I’ve been looking forward to playing the first person game set on an oil rig called Still Wakes the Deep, which is not a wallet threat for me since it comes to Game Pass this week. The big wallet threat for about 20% of Elden Ring players is the new expansion that comes out for it this week. I’m sure I’ll get it too, once I reach that far into the game. I’ve heard Elder Scrolls Online is good, that one gets a new expansion this week. Any wallet threats for you this week?

Thursday (6/20/24):

  • Aarik and the Ruined Kingdom (PC)
  • Crab God (PC)
  • Drug Dealer Simulator 2 (PC)
  • Everafter Falls (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch, PC)
  • Tavern Talk (PC)
  • Dicefolk (PC)
  • Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 (PSVR2)

  • Tarisland (PC, mobile)
  • Dystopika (PC)

Actually, the Elder Scrolls Online expansion came out on June 3 for PC. I think Tuesday is for consoles? Not sure. As for how good the game is, I’ve been having a lot of fun with it. The expansion itself seems to be a bit light in content, but the Scribing system it adds is pretty awesome, if a bit grindy.

This is the wallet threat for me, really. Looking forward to a full playthrough of the game once it’s released.

And these would be wallet threats if I didn’t get the Premium Edition of AoW 4 (so that DLC is “free”), and if I didn’t get Shadow of the Erdtree as a birthday gift last month. :)

Surprisingly threat-free week for me, though I have been tempted by W&R:SR.

It’s great and you should play it!

Ah, I didn’t realize Egosoft’s big push to a massive 7.0 update coincided with the release of some new DLC. Hmm, that’s intriguing! Another attempt at a big fat X makeover, huh? I might have to show up for that!

You should. It’s such a brilliant game.
