Wallet Threat Level

Didn’t realize Fantasy General 2 was so close to release.

Wow, never thought I’d agree with the Dark Lord, but anything can happen in the Wallet Threat Dimension!

I am looking forward to that Switch Mahjong game: looks like it is real mahjong, it is online and it doesn’t use microtransactions or subscriptions? sounds a bit too good to be true.

What a drag that this doesn’t have local co-op.

I am SO HOPING that Fantasy General II will be great, but I’m waiting for reviews.

Agreed. Children of Morta just looks like it has too much gameplay (lol!)

I predict wallet threat level to be pretty durn high the next few weeks…

(Greedfall, FG2, and something else …. Warhammer 2 new Expansion)

The rockpapershotgun preview was quite positive. Don’t know if you read it.

RPS preview

That review was a pretty tortured use of the English language to end up with the conclusion of “it’s not a bad sequel.”

Excepting for his convoluted introductions, I always like the way he writes. It feels very natural and clear to me, as a foreigner with limited English knowledge.

Yes I love Tim Stone’s writing style and taste. Generally if he likes something I know I will too.

Ok, big wallet threats this week.

Gears 5 (good campaign, new Horde mode where each character has unique abilities, new Escape mode), Blasphemous is a 2D “fast-paced, skilled combat [and] a deep and evocative narrative core.” Could be very neat for fans of that genre. Greedfall is an RPG that’s trying to evoke a Bioware RPG. The new Pro Evolution Soccer game is coming out, and will be called eFootball for some reason. NHL 20 will be out for fans of that sport. Borderlands 3 comes out for looter shooter fans. And finally a mech combat game called Daemon x Machina is coming out this week for Switch.

  • Hard Times

Armless week. Phew, what a respite!

Finally, a severe dearth of interesting games, giving me an opportunity to catch up on what I’ve already got.

Up until this week it seems like the last month or so has been nothing but big title after big title I couldn’t wait to get my hands on. I need to catch up on some stuff before the holidays arrive and my backlog grows even fatter.

We need more shitty weeks like this one to give me a chance to catch up and justify new purchases in the future.

I’ll pull the trigger on Greedfall if impressions here or reviews elsewhere indicate it is worth a play.

I already like what I know of the setting and narrative.

Definitely getting the annual NHL update for our EASHL team.

Really interested in Greedfall too, also depending on impressions/reviews. I haven’t read much about it yet but the general concept seems pretty good.

He chopped off his arms so he won’t be tempted to buy lots of sweet new games this week.

Wow, Greedfall does look interesting. I might just roll the dice and take a chance with this one, unless the early rumblings are disastrous. I have been playing more on my PC lately but I may get this one for the PS4 Pro. Wide open vistas need a big screen.

Greedfall right now plus PVZ last weekend…no more games released this year please.

So no one is getting Borderlands 3?
