The stealth changes are also implemented for Extermination missions now, so you start in silent mode and if you are not noticed and noone does the alert, you can finish the whole run “stealthed”.
And as we know, stealth kills give a LOT more xp, altho I suppose Draco XP farm is still superior :)
SPY missions I’ve always dreaded to do with groups, perhaps this 18-18.5 changes should make them more group friendly.
Still haven’t got my atlas yet, and want to get that new Scarab/Sandstorm frame.
Just a heads up, the third anniversary celebration is happening this week. Log in to the PC version before next Tuesday to get a free Dex Sybaris, which looks like a very nice weapon, plus the weapons from the previous anniversary events. The patch notes said that the console versions will get the weapons with their next updates, whenever that may be.
Not done by far, but just need to play something else than adding to the 900+ hours of Warframe :-)
Dont know if there is a QT3 clan. They recently reduced the resource requirements for research/building depending on the clan size, so a lot of clans downsized to fit more with the activity of the players I believe.
Thanks for the heads up, J Thomas. I reinstalled it and ran through the tutorial. It’s been a while. I forgot how pretty it is. I’m going to have to tinker with some settings though. The movement response makes me dizzy sometimes.
Edit: I know people like to rag on Steam so here’s a positive note. I had to reinstall Warframe. It was an 11.2GB DL and space on my game partition is getting tight. I had just installed an SSD in my laptop. So I notice that there is a dropdown next to ‘install on D: Steam Library’. Lo and behold there is also a new option for ‘Create new Steam Library on F:’. Well what do you know? And so I did. I suppose that I can uninstall a few games from D: and reinstall them on F: to free up some space and maybe make them run a bit faster. Thanks Steam.
There is a third party tool that lets you move games from one folder to another steam folder, then updates the “content” file. Alternatively you can do it manually. Just close down steam, move the game folder, then edit the text file I forgot what was called, alternatively, move the game folder to the new drive, then tell steam to install the game to that same drive, it should notice everything alreayd there and get you to 100% quickly.
I played this for a while, and really liked it. Had to stop playing for a bit. When I came back, was completely lost and just wanted to start over. Seems you can’t really do that as it’s tied to your steam account. Every time I try and fire this up and get back into it, I wander around my base for 5 minutes, and then shut it off lol. I really wish I could just start over. Any work around for this?
They added a sort of tutorial in a patch within the last year that should get you up to speed?
Just pick one of your frames and put something on it, then start with one of the easier missions on Earth to get a handle on things, then go up from there?
There is also a sort of ‘mission terminal’ in the top right corner now, that shows the quests, alerts, dailies, syndicate missions etc, depending on what you’ve unlocked.
I stopped playing this at the new year- actually let my xbox live sub lapse- more important stuff to do, and it was a time-waster. Re-upped a couple weeks ago, and got sucked back into this game.
The good parts? I finished the couple quests I hadn’t done, including the Second Dream (and the new Sands), and yeah, it was excellent. The thing you don’t really hear about finishing it is that there’s whole game systems that open up when you do, so it behooves you to get through it soon. I’ve also managed to finish building a bunch of frames I was in the middle of back then (Chroma was a pain in the ass!), so now have a bunch of variety, which is cool.
As for the bad? All the Archwing stuff is way too grind-y. Trying to get specific parts to drop is absurd, and so I still have all the starting gear. So I decided to research a bit, but when I got to the blueprint for the Grattler (the seemingly one piece that doesn’t take RNG drop parts), it takes 3000 oxium. Hah. So, I’m assuming they just want me to pay plat for all the Archwing stuff, but it’s all so rarely used, why would I bother? I’m just ignoring it, I guess- I managed to cheese a solo win against the Jordas Golem, so eh, probably won’t need it for a while.
The hilarious? I’ve now set up an alert app for my phone, too get some parts I’ve been angling at- one of which is the last part (chassis) for Vauban. I’ve seen it go off twice in the last month- one a few days ago while I was at work, and last night, a few minutes after I fell asleep- the alert was there when I woke up this morning. Doh!
I sometimes do a bit of Archwing to get some of the pieces I’m missing, but mostly I do not bother with it as I think getting the loot is too annoying; course if you use the ‘Mag’-equal for Archwing it is no problem at all :)
It usually helps if you’re listening to this:
Thinking about burning through some WF this weekend. Got a lot of stuff to get, new content and quest to finish, and almost MR20 now.
Kinda sad about missing some of the stuff they’ve had going lately, as it would upgrade my shoulder-decal :)
New thing with a recent update, Rathuum, a sort of arena trial in which you’re pitted against half a dozen “champions” (called Executioners) of one of the enemy factions. 3 “rounds” of increasing difficulty capped by a boss fight and then an endless one-life version, can be done teamed or solo.
Love the name, reminds me of John Carter of Mars.
It’s still moving along with regular updates, constant bug fixing, etc., etc. Still a top game.
Next up is some overhauls of two of the older frames, Mag and Volt, plus a new competitive “sport” mode, Lunara, to entice normally PvP-shy players into some sort of competitive but hopefully non-griefable PvP gameplay.
Did the Rathuun + Bossfight and up to 31 on endless, but felt like a lot of frames were useless in the Arena fight unless you had a good team. Need to farm the endboss more, but I believe it costs 50 tokens per attempt, which means 5 arena fights per bossfight.
Been testing my old valkyr recently, seemed like a fun frame for melee, but not sure I’ll stick with it. Made the Wukong yesterday so having some fun with that one.
Now missing ASH PRIME, SATYR PRIME and ATLAS and I should have all. By the time I get those, they’ll probably have introduced another or primed one of the older ones.
I wonder what they’ll do with the MAG or VOLT. Haven’t used my MAG since they nerfed Greedy Pull into the ground, and the VOLT I only ever use for CAPTURE missions. The biggets problem I have with my Volt is that the duration of the speed-buff isn’t long enough :O, and if I put too much Strenght to the ability, it just becomes unmanageable.
I guess I just need to get more “Primal” mods from the Baron (he’s back this weekend I think) as well as put some more potatos on it my Volt. the Shield ability is kinda nice.
Getting enough FOCUS to use those abilities just seems to take forever-and-ever.
Without a doubt Warframe is the best F2P implementation I’ve played - and a really good game in any regards. Shame two of my friends would rather play COD with Donald than this game. I’d think that map designers for a lot of other game should take note on DE’s map designs and their tech use.
I just got him recently, and I’ve been having a great time with him. My impression from reading about him that he was just some throwaway frame for the Chinese market was wrong. Actually very high damage or quite tanky depending on how you build him (and even the hybrid is still effective).
One of the weekend patches increased the token rewards for the arena matches. Round 3 gives 25 tokens, so it only takes two matches to pay for a boss run now.
In the arena matches, I found it very helpful to equip one of the mods that shows enemy positions on the radar. The sentinel version didn’t seem to function (and it has a shorter range anyway), but the other versions worked fine.
I enjoy playing Valkyr too. I only use her in certain situations though, when I need the survivability she can provide.
Valkyr is my go-to frame when I just need to get shit done. “Her survivability” for me is practically infinite. I have a mod that turns damage on her health into energy, and then I trigger Hysteria, which makes her invincible, and defend the lost health quick. Basically, unless something one-shots me, I’m good. There’s very few bosses (only two I can think of) I can’t just run up to, slaughter, and run off to the evac zone.
And to update my post from a few days ago, I got my Vauban Chassis! Monday morning, I was finagling with my phone, trying to sign up for HBO Now so I could watch ep2 of GoT. I got it all squared away, and pressed play on my xbox, looked one more time at my phone, and I noticed an icon in the notifications- I’ve got the Warframe Alert App set to mot make any noise or vibrate, so it was a bit of a surprise. So I pull it down and… the last vauban part! So I stopped GoT and got back into WF, launched the mission, and finished it in less than ten minutes. Then to build all the stuff (12 hours), and the frame itself… 3 gorram days? Ah, well. 1 day left!

I normally have this site running on a browser just to pay attention, http://deathsnacks.com/wf/index.html but I suppose an app on my mobile phone would be better.
I seem to recall DE talked about a new WF mobile app many months ago… I wonder if it is out yet.
Grats with the Vauban :) Its a great defensive frame even if it looks really bad.
Thanks! The app is good- you can set it to filter so you only see the rewards you want. Mine is mostly that chassis, Forma, Potatoes, a few misc Mods. Pretty neat.
