Warframe: silly named F2P coop TPS

I tuned in for about the last half, so I saw some of the Fortuna presentation and all of Railjack. I expected something like Fortuna, but Railjack caught me by surprise. I can’t believe how ambitious the devs are getting with this game.

That reveal looked awesome. Cant wait :)

So, multi-crewed ship with defense/boarding and space-walk. Wasn’t that one of starCitizens stretch goals? :P

I might get back into the game because of this.

I just hope this isn’t one of those things that screws over players who prefer to be without a clan.

Is the new gameplay mode for operators or 'frames?

I loved this game right until I hit the point where they decided to emphasize the operators. That stopped me playing altogether.

Oghier: Watch the reveal stream and rejoice. tl;dr; Frames were in all the videos, no operators

Goddammit Warframe. Just when you think you’re out, they pull you back in with amazing crap like this.

How many years until we run out of quality names for video games? (Granted, other commercial products haven’t run out of names yet. For instance, “Swiffer” and “Viagra”. Oh wait, they did.)

Started playing on console again.

Not only they have added systems and subsystems like maniacs. I think they have optimized the basic loop of the game. You can complete and have fun 2 or 3 games in 10 minutes. Coming from Fortnite Save the World, thats simply amazing.

The plains is somewhat a nothingburger, and at the same time, sometimes you want in a videogame to play in a area with a sky over you, not inside a tunnel. You know?, you can do that withouth changing game now. And Fortune looks amazing.

We call that working through the star map, and it’s the thing you want to be doing at this stage. Different planets have different crafting materials, and you’ll want those for building up your arsenal.

The Warframe community is nice that way. I’ve only run into a handful of jerks after a few hundred hours of gameplay.

Yup, start making your way around the Origin system. Cetus and the Plains of Eidolon are cool, but most of the progression there is for a feature you won’t have access to until around Neptune.

Your mastery rank is mostly an indicator of account age. The level of your weapons and warframe are much more important.

Because it’s one of the gameplay features which is poorly hinted, one of the most important things you can do early on is level your mods. Mods get much, much more efficient as you upgrade them—the ‘weight’ of mods increase a la 2/3/4/5…, while the benefits of mods increase a la 15%/30%/45%/60%. The difference between a late-game kit and an early-game kit is upgraded mods (and a larger variety of them to choose from), and Orokin Catalysts and Orokin Reactors, which double mod capacity. You get a few running through the story quests. Be careful installing them; it’s permanent, so you should really like what you’re installing them on.

Also, be careful spending your starting platinum. The best thing you can do with it is buy slots. Also, don’t buy platinum at full price. You’ll get login reward discounts of up to 50% reliably, and very occasionally a 75% discount.

Lastly, there’s a large assortment of weaponry and warframes available if you join a clan (by buying blueprints from the clan dojo’s labs). You’re welcome to stop by mine if you’d like to stock up.

Was there a big marketing push again? I saw a couple people on my friendlist pick it up for the first time in the last few days, but I’m a little out of the loop because I switched to PoE when new league started.

(not to mention slowing it down once I hit MR25)

I think a lot of it is that it’s had some good press lately—articles in PC Gamer and Rock Paper Shotgun, high placement on the Steam most-played list…

I think the announcements/trailers of the upcoming content probably has a lot to do with it.

Tennocon 2018 took place a couple of weeks ago, which generated news/buzz.

I had to log in and take a look myself, as the UI has changed since the last time I really played. Hit ESC, mouse over the icon in the upper left, and select ‘show profile.’ That will show your mastery rank among other stats.

Many weapons have mastery rank requirements, and there are some perks that come with having a high mastery rank. It’s not a direct indicator of how powerful you are though, as that is determined by your loadout.

Incidentally, the wiki is an excellent resource. It covers a lot of information that isn’t explained in-game very well (or at all).

Twitch Prime is pushing the shit out of it. With all the free stuff they were giving away, I figured I should give it a chance.

I’m in a similar place as krayzkrok, just kind of motoring around doing whatever flashing blue diamonds are on my planet maps. I just finished the second quest…kind of an interesting quest line involving two ex-lovers and a missing husband, or something. That was pretty good, but now I’m locked out of the next quest until I grind a bunch of locations and unlock Mercury, I think?

So far, so good. I have a feeling this might get a little boring soon, though. There’s not a ton of variation between missions. It’s mostly just shooting samey looking monsters.

… I don’t actually remember offhand.

I’m OneTrueCod in-game, though. Send me a friend request and I’ll send you a clan invite next time I’m online.

Is a good game and DE are great developers. But is a repetitive game. Like eating a 1mile radio cheese ball.

I did the adventure “The Second Dream” and despite having the content spoiled to me multiple times, doing it myself sent shivers down my spine. Is a amazing “whoa” moment, both in execution and content.

I am looking forward for the “the inside war” adventures, but is very far away, both in dificulty and unlocking of planets.

Best thing of starting now is all these high quality years of content that we get without waiting. It feels somewhat like binge watching a excellent TV serie you just found.

Are you game for having more QT3 dabblers tracking dirt into your dojo?

My problem was I started playing, got my first warframe and all its weapons, etc. to 30, and took a break. Then they updated the crap out of it, including a complete UI revamp (around when the map was reworked). Next time I logged in, I kind of went “uuuuh… what am I looking at?” and slowly backed away. And that’s all I’ve done since.

But the recent push, and a shiny new Prime frame, has me wanting to play a bit. I doubt I’ll get as heavily back into it as I was originally though.

Sure. I believe that makes eight of my ten slots filled.

When I’m managing the invites tonight, probably, I’ll make sure there’s a rank where people can start and contribute to research, and set you all to that rank. If there’s something you want that isn’t done, there you have it.
