One click instead of three break the server?

I don’t know. There is a post from Mark Jacobs that aludes to an issue but I didn’t see any details. Some folks were complaining before the maintenance downtime though that the system wasn’t really queuing them for all; I don’t know what the reality was.

For the curious, the “current realm population bonuses” are for Order on the servers Bechafen and Ungrim, and expire in 7 days.

edit: Ulthuan is listed now, too. I think there’s a high chance that these realms have a low population because they have really lame names. It still isn’t quite as bad as “Nimrodel”, though.

Anyone else playing a warrior priest notice a bug or strangeness in your mastery paths? 2 of the skills listed in the mastery ‘path of grace’ are listed as being level 16 when in actual fact they are only able to be purchased when you’re level 35+. They’re redded out and unable to be used till then. Both of the other mastery paths have a full complement of 5 skills that can be used right off the bat and the grace path is stuck with 3 moderately useful ones. Something is wrong here.

That’s not how they work. Each mastery path does two things:

  1. Extra points increase the effectiveness of the skills on the boxes on the right. These are skills that everyone in your class gets (at some level). So if you’re fine with these base skills, you can just spend points in masteries and have 15/10.

  2. Provide extra abilities/tactics/morale abilities. Each of these costs an additional point. If you want to max out one tree (15 mastery + all abilities) it’s something like 22 points. You’ll have 3 left over for another mastery tree and zero for even the first tactic out of that tree.

What you’re seeing is not bugginess; you’ve simply dumped points into a mastery where you’re not high enough level to have gotten the other base skills which fall under that mastery. It’s either a bug or poor UI design that those skills list at your current level when you mouse over them, instead of listing at the level you get them at. I suspect the latter, since all skills scale with level, so they’re showing you the current effectiveness of a skill that, unfortunately, you don’t get until a later level.

I initially thought that, but when I noticed that the other two paths have five skills each from level 16 upwards (btw I’m level 23- it isn’t my level it’s showing)and the grace path has 5 skills which say lvl 16 in the mouse over but only 3 skills accesable, I think something’s wrong.

I don’t quite understand the problem you are having, but at least I can clarify how the spells level up.

You get three kinds of abilities - core abilities, spec abilities available to anyone, and mastery spec abilities - the ones you have to spend a Mastery point to train.

Core abilities level up every time you do, so if you are lvl 23, these abilities are also lvl 23.

Specs abilities level up every time you do up to level 10, after this they level up every OTHER time that you do. So that if you are lvl 23, they are lvl 10+13/2=16. They also level up every time you train a point in the corresponding mastery tree, so if you are lvl 23 and you spend 5 points in the Grace tree, your Divine Strike would be lvl 16+5=21.

As you can see, spell level has nothing to do with when these spells are available to you. Spells level up on their own depending on your lvl/training. If you mouse over the spells in the trainer’s screen, their tooltip shows what would they be (and do) IF you had them now. This allows you to compare apples to apples (i.e. your current spells to the ones you are planning to get).

I re-read your post and I got it now. Yes, you are right, two of the Grace spec abilities are trainable at lvl 30+, while the other two trees get all 5 spec spells by lvl 20 or so. Hehe, I never paid attention to this.

I guess it’s a bit unfair to the Grace tree, same as the fact that we get our Knockback ability at lvl 40, while everyone else gets it in their teens. But oh well, think about it as something to look forward to. :)

Oooh. Interesting. So each point in a tree buffs the core abilities for that tree. The 5 bonus abilities in the tree are just that… bonuses if you pay to get them.

Does the improvement to the core abilities show in the interface when you add points to a tree?

Tried a Witch Hunter last night, since I generally dash right for the healers no matter what class I play anyway.

Discovered there was a 15-30 second queue time for Nordenwatch on Ostermark. Got level 8 in maybe 3 hours by queueing over and over and turning in the two quests at the warcamp. Good stuff.

The greyed out skills for the grace path just aren’t something you can learn yet. If you go to the trainer, you can see what level they come in at. Why you can’t learn 2 of the skills for one path at level 23 and all of the skills for the other paths, I don’t know. (And as somebody else said, the level is just the level the skill would be, if you learned it. But you can’t learn it.)

In the tool tips? Yes. But don’t expect a dramatic improvement for each point you put in.

I did some (like 3 or 4!) tests and adding a point seemed to increase between 2-4%, which seems reasonable, I’m sure better #s are available somewhere.

Just announced they reached 750k registered accounts. FYI.

P.S.
Hooray, Ulthuan is the F13.net server where I play most of the times. We got bonus!

So are there buddy keys for this yet? Can anyone hook me up with a trial? :)

Yes. Now tell them to help me with these damn Public Quests.

And there would be players who would think that just sucks ass. No XP in RvR will just result in twink-world all over again.

Yeah, it already sucks being a 12 in a scenario full of 18+s. That would just make it worse for the low level people.

Yes, it’s great that the 11s have no choice but to level out of the scenarios and world RvR eventually. Please don’t ever implement an “XP off” mode.

The Join All button seems to be getting a lot of use. Nice having a variety of scenarios popping now.

Oh and what’s with the tome tactics and tome trophies? I went to the library and a bunch of tactics are green but they all say I don’t have the proper tome entry unlocked. And the trophies just don’t do anything when I try to buy them. Are these working as intended?
