Yeah, that could be a problem too. Not sure there’s an easy way to make sure the lower tiers of full of players willing to engage in open world RvR.

Yeah, I was strongly defending a de-levelling system, but the way the game is designed now it’s a big problem.
Right now being at the top of a tier is like a moment of grace. You feel extremely powerful but this is balanced because it’s transitory.
I don’t know, maybe deleveling at the booster level, but there must be a better solution.
Sooooo, no buddy keys huh?
Wish there was, or a free trial. A couple of my friends (previous WoW players) refuse to try this game. If they were able to try it on a trial basis, I know they’d buy it.
I wonder how many WoW players Mythic is missing out on by not having a buddy key or free trial. All some of those WoW players need is a taste of WAR to realize that WoW is no longer the only game in town.
Do any MMOs do buddy keys this early? I’d think you’d want to lock down any server issues (which to be fair are pretty minimal, except for some really long queues), before you start letting people play for free.

Really? My server (Badlands) just keeps popping Nordenwatch as always.
Tome tactics/trophies are achievements. You have to unlock the specific Tome entry to actually obtain the tactic/trophy. This is done through ways that I think are currently secret, until Thottbot (or whatever) gets a list of all the requirements.
Pretty sure the “green” just indicates that you’re of adequate level to buy it.
My vanilla WoW CE had a 10 day Buddy key in the retail package.
Never used it though.
Tier 2 on Skull Throne used to be nothing but Mourkain Temple. Last night it was probably more that than anything else, but the Troll Pacifier one popped almost half the time, and my brother got Phoenix Gate once or twice. I’ll have to check Ostermark which used to be nothing but Phoenix Gate.
After the fix on monday Ostermark switched to almost entirely Mourkain with a rare PG and an even rarer Troll Pacifier.
IMO Mourkain is the best of the bunch. Quick. Lots and lots of action. PG is the absolute worst. Always goes to the time limit, hardly ever ends at 500 points.
I think Mourkain is the best, but the Troll one is fun every now and then. Or it was last night when we rolled Order three times, keeping them in double digits (and once we were heavily outranked).
It’s amazing how bad some people are at scenarios. You’ll do Mourkain with four people who are rank 20 or 21 and have maybe one or two mount up at the start and run for the flag. Somehow my mount-less sorceress is almost always one of the first to the flag (which is good as long as I’m not first. I can drop the AOE root and give the carrier time to escape). People will always stand around and not pick up the flag. I hate grabbing it as sorc, but in a PUG you kinda have to.
I play with my brother and sometimes it’s amazing how much difference two semi-competent people can make. Everyone else can be fighting in the middle and we’ll just go walk around the side, kill the undefended flag carrier and grab the flag. Last night he (as a zealot) was the flag carrier in Trolls and Temple more often than not, because everyone else seemed to be completely ignoring it. Guess I need to play more on Ostermark with competent guild groups.
I don’t find Mourkain much fun for a non-capped Tank, as you just get nuked by the back lines as soon as you poke your head around the corner. And Order’s seeming lack of healers (at least on Darklands) means once you’re under the gun, you’re pretty toast.
Or maybe Order just likes to fight more, last night I had a team where I was 17th, a RM was 20, and the rest of the party was 14 or 15! Ouch! We got owned ;)
i don’t think any side has a lack of healers - you just really notice it when they’re missing. I played a scenario where there was literally no class on our side capable of healing. A witch elf won with 3000 pts of healing. Either from a self-heal or some potions I guess.

You also notice it when they’re overrepresented. The only time I’ve ever seen Mourkain go to the time limit, both sides had more than 6 healers.
What pisses me off in PUGs is when healers refuse to heal or dps as needed. I actually had a guy in Tier 2 say “I can’t heal. I’m specced DPS.” You have at most 5 points in the DPS tree. Suck it up or come up with a better excuse. Yes, criticizing healers is verboten unless you have one as your main, but my brother is really good at doing what’s needed so it can’t be that hard.

I agree that you don’t notice when it’s under-represented. But in Tier 1 at least, when they’re over-represented by one side, it’s way, way easy to roll over the other side without breaking a sweat. Just get a single tank and a couple of DPS, and with 8 healers (yes, we had 8) those 3 defensive guys simply will not ever die.
I did 3 scenarios like that, and it was sheer hilarity. But when there’s not enough of them (or tanks, really) … ouch. Very ouch.

One healer makes all the difference in the world. My brother plays a shaman, and I play a Chosen. I was able to tank about 6-8 Order with him healing me, me guarding him, and whatever aura I had going at the time. Also, goblins are easy to hide off in the bushes/rocks. Of course, one of the engineers got smart and punted him off the cliff… those knockbacks are rough.

Anyone seen engineers be useful? In PVE they are just someone for my Ironbreaker to worry about as they generate agro but don’t kill fast enough to keep themselves alive. A mate sad they get good in tier 3 but I’m not convinced.
My engineer was pretty useless in PvE unless I was in a group going up against a boss-type monster. In other group situations, the mob is usually dead before I can get off one gun blast. Solo PvE is where the engineer really starts to drag (in my opinion, anyway) because you get all these neat gun abilities for ranged DPS, but you’re almost always going to end up in melee combat. Maybe I’m playing it wrong, I dunno.
Ultimately I shelved my engineer in favor of a witch hunter and haven’t looked back.
I like Mourkain least of the three T2 scenarios (although I guess I only ever managed to get into Phoenix Gate once). It mostly seems to go to whoever snags the murderball first and retreats near their spawn. I grant you that a lot of the scenarios seem to go to whoever snags (x) first, but that one’s particularly bad for it. And other than that it’s just an excuse to hit things. I’m not against hitting things, but if you’re going to basically just throw people into a melee, what’s the point of even having a scenario? I think the best one’s Stone Troll Crossing. It has its issues, too, but there’s quite a bit more tactical variety.
And having lots of healers is indeed hilarious. I once slaughtered my way through all of Empire’s Chapter 10 PQs (more than once) with a team consisting almost entirely of Warrior Priests - never fewer than four, and sometimes as many as six, plus one Witch Hunter and for some of the time a Bright Wizard. I think we might have had one actual tank, once. But WPs have enough armor to be quasi-tanky. Ish. Especially when they’re the focus of six casters worth of healing. Hell, the Bright Wizard managed to do some tanking with that kind of healing pouring in.

Lots of people say this, but I haven’t personally seen this to be true. The “murderball” in Mourkain gives a pretty modest score bonus, especially if the carrier just hides away from the battle. Mourkain is basically won by the side than can get the best kills per deaths ratio (with the ball working as a sort tie-breaker with close to even teams), and while that side is usually also the one that can grab the ball first, I think lots of people see the cause-effect in reverse.
