my main is a Marauder…and even though I love playing as him, sometimes in scenarios, it just irritates me.
Usually, what happens, is the healers pay no attention to me, healing the tank that seems too scared to jump in. We all just sit back, taking ranged damage. Finally, I jump in and die, usually pretty quickly, due to the healers only healing the tank who is standing in the back taking range damage. It seems like it happens more times than not.
I understand that it is my job to die, and I am ok with that. Just would like some back up as I go to meet Tzeentch!!
As far as BW’s are concerned. I love getting hold of one. Usually, if I can tag him, he is going DOWN. Especially since after 18, I have the ability that breaks that fire cage root. And if I can get next to him, tag him with the anti-magic ability, then hit him with that slow down ability, I can hammer him into death, and send him to meet Sigmar!!

Witch elves just shred my rune priest badly.
My Ironbreaker is 19/16 now and I am adoring how he plays, perhaps my fab MMO character ever. I feel like a referee in battles. “You will get a punt”, “you shall be locked to the ground”, “you shall be mashed into the ground”.
It’s pretty damn fun!
And I don’t get why folks love WEs so much? They just seem so squishy to me. Same with marauders and all the others bar Shaman and the tanks. Shaman and tanks just take too long to kill, but a punt takes them out of the battle, so that’s fun.
One class I don’t get are DoK. Always close to the front lines but seemingly extremely soft. Sure, I don’t recall soloing them, but if I’ve punted his tank buddy away I guarantee he goes down quick as others turn their gaze to him.
In other news I discovered my laptop only had one gig of RAM so today I went and got a 2 gig stick. Game is running significantly better. Also got my 360 wireless headset working with vent, which is pretty neat. Voice in one ear, game out of the speakers. Awesome.
How did you do this? Do you need some sort of special adapter?

In my experience with the Warrior Priest, 1v1 with a tank is basically a draw, where the WP can’t do enough damage to dent the tank and the tank can’t do enough damage to get through the healing of the WP. However, I often fail to change my assist target to myself in the heat of battle and die.
But generally I agree with your point. The squishy melee classes seem like a bad idea. Healing or higher DPS doesn’t really matter if it is hard to actually get into attack range.
You need the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows. If you’re lucky, you can find one for as low as $10 at TRU, Target, or Kmart.
Ironbreakers are very good; sometimes I think too good, as they do good damage and take forever to kill. There are very few downsides to the little buggers.
Witch ELves are fun because like the Witch Hunter they require a fair amount of finesse to play well (not that I’m any good at it myself, yet), they can stealth (of limited use but can be effective) and they can shred casters and healers. With the right spec and positioning they can finish off wounded tanks too–in fact, the most fun I have on my WE is circling behind a battle to finish off the wounded who retreat from battle. A fitting task for a Bride of Khaine I think. I’m 27/23 I think and by that point you have a positional stun attack and some nice Mastery abilities too.
I’ve only started playing a DoK a bit, but from what I see in scenarios they often have huge numbers in both damage and healing–usually, healing themselves. If you pair one with a tank, with the tank guarding the DoK and the DoK healing the tank, they can be pretty effective.

Ironbreakers are awesome. If you really want to see this in action, roll a Destruction alt and fight them. They’re tough as nails to kill, and they do too much damage (with grudge) to ignore. My magus is developing a serious fear of dwarfs.

My squig herder is sympathetic towards your predicament…

As a tank, I’m pretty torn. I like to charge in and wreak some havock in the enemy’s backline. However, every time I do that I turn around and see my healers and RDPS getting torn up by witch elves and … marauders. Basically a tank has two roles: defensive tank, where your goal is to protect your squishies and kill melee DPS, or offensive tank where your goal is to break the enemy lines, soak up fire, be a distraction and keep your MDPS alive.
Which role you should take depends on the composition of the two side’s forces, and what the other tanks on your team are doing. Sometimes people just get mentally locked into one role though.
Ironbreakers are the best at the defensive role, as they have a lot more options for protecting squishies. Unfortunately, as a Swordmaster, they are probably also the best bet in the offensive role, though the disparity there is less stark.

classes just aren’t balanced, doesn’t mean shit if I’m #1 in para-olympic!
Someone was asking early to see things both from sides.
Here is a break down list of all skills from sorc/bw, this post had no conclusion attached either just flat out numbers if you want to do some number crunching.

In case someone just read the spell description, please look at cast time too.

Again, what does it matter? Order v Destruction is pretty well balanced, and you happen to lay the smack down harder than any other Destruction class. The BW has some better abilities than you - that’s it. Hardly worth throwing a fit over and your logic is bizarre.
You’re acting like you’re playing a bad class. You really, really, really are not.

I still don’t get why you are saying order and destruction are balanced, because I don’t think it is.
having an mirror class that have vastly better abilities that the class I choose to play in a PVP game is fucking retarded.

To be honest, the Witch Hunter is a pretty good MDPS counter since it is an MDPS as well. I just unlocked Pistol Whip which is a 3 second stun and I can’t tell you how many times in the last few days I’ve pistol whipped a Marauder, Witch Elf and even tanks, got behind them and hit (ignoring armor) until they were near death by the time they got resituated. Admittedly, I’m not the only one hitting them, but then again when you see a stunned opponent it’s like everyone goes “hruh?” and focus fires on them.
I do die every so often, but it’s usually because I’m trying to sacrifice myself taking out a healer. I’m loving the WH in the late 20 ranks. I’m sure that will reset when I hit 32 and I’m fighting in T4.
The most annoying ability I’ve encountered, apart from getting punted into the lava on Tor Anroc, is the damn Magus’ “Chaotic Rift” mastery path unlock (http://www.wardb.com/spell.aspx?id=8499). I can’t tell you how many time I’ve been sucked in and wailed on by 6 Destro.

Crystal clear!
On IB: I, too, love mine, and agree it is probably my favorite character ever in an MMO (with possible exception of EQ1 Enchanter). I love busting out the ol’ 2H axe in Mourkains and layin’ into some destro.
On Mythic responsiveness: I got contacted by a CSR last night in the middle of a scenario.
CSR: “Still having problems with the PQ?”
Me: mashing buttons furiously “uh… what PQ?”
CSR: “<insert name of some chapter 4 PQ I’ve long forgotten about>”
Me: “uh… that was like, 10, 12 days ago? I barely remember it… I couldn’t tell you if it’s still bugged completely or not…”

Yeah, the Mourkain dilemma, when no one will go for the Guy With The Thing. I usually go and put my Black Orc right in the face of the guy with the thing. 90% of the time I’ll be alone doing that while my team is up in the temple ledge beating the two Ironbreakers that have engaged them out of tediousness.
But one or twice a week people will get it and a healer will keep you up just long enough to allow your DPS guys to be all over the enemy squishies while everyone was beating on you.
Last night it happened once: grouped with two other blorcs and a couple of shammies from the guild we went straight in there and stole the goddam thing while the witch elves and assorted spiky people murdered the healers and nukers. Feels great

Because I’ve played both to a vast extent and am fully aware of the differences between the classes, understand that the “mirrors” are not exact ones and that the synergy between the classes is more important and that teamwork, communication, and smart play is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> class balance in this here game.
The BW has some better abilities than your class. That does not diminish your class in the slightest. The BW will probably get toned down - will you then suddenly like your class again?
Christ, it’s not like Destruction isn’t wiping the floor with Order on 80% of servers anyway due to the “cool” factor.

I think there definitely needs to be some tweaks, but comparing both sides as a whole it does feel fairly balanced. The thing is, we aren’t talking about mirror classes really. They’re somewhat similar roles, but they’re definitely different. It seems that Mythic wants both sides to be balanced as a whole and not individually when comparing across the line. Of course, they wisely haven’t made any changes and I imagine they won’t until things settle down a bit and people get the hang of things.

Wha? I routinely come in top 3-5 for damage done and kills contributed to on my IB in MT. I could do that at level 14 or so when I started doing t2 scenarios, not just at level 20-21 (and I don’t mean it’s my skill or anything, it’s the class, equipment, and usually being grouped with guildies that allow me to do so). I don’t understand the sentiment you expressed and I read all over WHA forums that IB are nothing but “tedious” nuisances that can be safely ignored. In open RvR I sometimes feel that way, but definitely not in scenarios. I own destro in every scenario I’ve played unless I over-extend myself and I’m alone against 4+ destro players. I’ve no idea if this unique to IBs, haven’t played either of the destro tanks or a SM past level 7 in beta.
But by all means, continue comin’ in solo to the order thingy-holder. I’d love to taunt you and then lay into you with my 2-H axe with 100 grudge… Then I’ll go take out the squig herder standing by himself on the rock to the side, then the sorc thinking she’s being sneaky comin in from the side behind the tree, etc etc. :)
