How much of that do we eat, though? (I was using the word ‘consume’ pretty literally.) Icelandic heated greenhouses, maybe?

I realize that people here aren’t as dumb as Bill Mitchell, but its interesting when you wait too long to re-pot a plant.

I once had a spider plant growing in a coffee cup for years. Eventually decided to put it into a real pot, and when I pulled it out, there was virtually ZERO dirt in the pot any more. The plant had basically just consumed all of it, and now the cup was entirely full of a mass of roots.

Luckily, spider plants can seemingly survive without any real nutrient source.

And when the ocean becomes clogged with enough plastic, we’ll finally be able to drive to Asia!

He’s a glass half full guy, of course. I’m sure he truly believes that.

There are no words for such breathtaking cynicism. What an unimaginable bastard.

April 20 marked the ninth anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon blowout, an offshore drilling disaster that killed 11 men and triggered a pollution nightmare as uncontrolled oil poured into the Gulf of Mexico for almost three months. Last week, shortly after that anniversary, the Trump administration announced a rollback of regulations that had been written to prevent such an incident from happening again.

I approve of the idea of smaller, more numerous reactors to make nuclear more economical and safe, but I still don’t see how it will address the real issue with nuclear power…regulatory capture. They’re pushing to get exemptions and exceptions to regulatory rules already. While I’m sure some of those are appropriate based on the technology, it’s a very small step from there to cutting safety corners to save costs.

Every time I talk to my doctor he tells me to eat more fish. But if everyone did that, the oceans would be empty in a year.

I mean that guy thinks all meat is terrible so become a vegan or you’ll doom us all.
And then you’ll probably doom us all by eating so many beans or something.

He ranks sheep farming above climate change for damage to environment. Cause you know, sheep are the real problem people.

The best simple advice on how individuals can make a difference vs climate change is 1) become vegetarian, and 2) stop flying. So maybe the sheep farming thing is not irrelevant.

In case you aren’t in the Idiot conspiracy theorist thread, you need to see this:

Also, spay or neuter your kids.

FTFY!

This is the future liberals want. Didn’t catch 'em on the way outta the womb, but that’s alright. Science gave man poison for a reason!

So yeah, we’ve basically polluted the earth’s surface from the bottom:

Don’t forget all the trash we’ve got in orbit!
