Go brits

Well it was nice knowing you guys:

Methane spikes ftw.

Interesting article with the bizarre characteristic of featuring a Rick Perry quote that sounds like something a proper energy secretary might say.

“I vote Trump, because he tells me there is no climate change” (my prediction for 2020)

there are so many great talks on climate change available online
here is one by John Englander on sea level rise.

As a recent college grad in the early 2000’s with a geophysical science degree some of my family were pushing for me to go into the oil industry, because money. I had a relative who worked for a big oil company and was stationed somewhere in Scandanavia. I just couldn’t do it, knowing what I knew then. I eventually ended up getting a job with an environmental consulting firm which I stuck with for a couple years and ended up spending time on Superfund sites as well as nicer regions such as the Florida Everglades.

I’m a big fan of electric cars and even hold some stock in Tesla, feel somewhat guilty that I commute 39 miles to work each way in a regular old VW sedan. Not quite sure what else to do other than live as conscionably as possible within the general social framework at hand.

In Spain we’ve had mandated by law solar panels in every new building since 2006. Of course the fall of new construction due to the financial crisis did not help.

WTH is happening in Oregon?

Oh yeah, I’ve got some friends on facebook who live in Oregon that are all fired up about that this week.

Republicans enter government now in order to break it. Make no mistake.

Didn’t the Dems do this in Illinois and Texas? For better reasons, but the same tactic?

Send like authorizing the state police to retrieve people who have left the state isn’t going to work.

If a legislator doesn’t show up for a vote, don’t you just mark them absent and carry on?

I suspect they left in numbers great enough to prevent a quorum.

I remember Texas at least. Can’t remember what heinous thing the GOP down there was trying to pull, but the Dems left the state to prevent a quorum and try to buy time.

Something about gay people, if I recall. Don’t know if it was marriage, adoption, or what related however

I thought it was about Gerrymandering

Whatever the details, I think we can safely assume it was disenfranchising someone. :)
