We sure could use Fucked Company now

So reading about how 45,000 jobs were lost by 9 AM this morning by various companies has left me wanting for a place that aggregates all the layoffs and company closings. Back in the dot bomb days this was the realm of fuckedcompany.com, but sadly they too ended up fucked. Is there any other site out there tracking all this stuff?

Excellent point, fuckedcompany was great back in the day. I particularly enjoyed the rants posted in their comments. Seems to me there’s an opportunity there.

It’s like watching a long and horrid train wreck. We’ve been numbed to it so much that a 20K employee cut is like “yeah, okay what next.”

There should be a site to track this again though.

Wow, what happened to them? Get sued?

Maybe we should start Frakedcompany.com ???

The dotcom crash ended and pud moved on to bigger and better things, basically.

Former member of the general board, I presume?

Does pub still “run” adbrite, or is he strictly AskPud’s webmaster.

I’ve been working on other things, and I don’t think I could make Fuckedcompany as funny/mean as I used to, because I live in the Silicon Valley area now and know too many of the people involved. When I was running FC in 2000, I was living in NYC and didn’t know anyone.

That post is funny. Phil knew plenty of the people he was attacking when he had fucked company.

I hung out with him a few times (lamest name drop ever, I think possibly!). He was pretty much just a developer then, so didn’t have nearly the vested interest he has now that he runs an ad network. That’s the real reason he can’t go back to being “pud”.

Trivia fact – at the time he used to date Jill Greenberg, the photographer who took that intentionally evil photo of McCain.

There was a quote from me on the back of his “F’d Companies” book.

It went something like, “Kaplan knew about my layoff before I did. Thanks, asshole.”

My favorite day on FC was when a retarded internet company that a douchebag classmate of mine had started went out of business.

I don’t usually go in for shadenfreude but at that moment it seemed appropriate.
