I think the only thing you were cheated out of was getting your account banned.
You make a good point.
I’m just spitballing here, but if you were going to get unlimited free games via nefarious means, wouldn’t you create a secret second account for that purpose so your primary account would remain untouched?
I already have what seems to be like unlimited games on my Steam account.
