I love the next-to-last panel’s text. Can’t stop getting creeped out by the art, though!

Comic artist Jeffrey Brown’s “Darth Vader and Son”:

Perils of the Lady Gamer

I find that brilliant. Conkers!

Ha, that one was good.

I wrote the creator of that strip (from my gender-neutral account) and told her I loved it, and she wrote, “Aw, man. Thanks a lot.” Irony!

That is fuckin fantastic. My favorite part was probably “Our Most Amusing ‘Tallywhacker-Wolves.’”

Protip: “Aw, man” is a gender-neutral expression. She was not assuming you were a man.

I am from the United States and know that.

Still, the tip offered was professional in nature.

actual lol’d

That was excellent.

So the irony was…?

I don’t think that it was intense enough irony to hold up under scrutiny. I was having a bit of a lark. But some folks feel that gender non-neutral language, like “hey guys” or “mankind”, should be used at least a little bit carefully. I’m definitely in the “mankind” camp, preferring “humankind”, but say “guys” to women all the time without realizing.

I thought you guys said “yins.”

Edit: Ahahaha, I didn’t even realize I’d used the “you guys” construction until I’d posted. Perhaps it should have been “I thought y’all said ‘yins.’”

Yins have always been at war with Yuguysia.

Yins is my side of the state. We don’t truck with those Easterners.
