Weekend gaming 07/15/2011

So what are people going to spend their gaming time on this weekend? After celebrating my Mom’s 73rd birthday this evening and spending the rest of the night in the embraces of my new wife, I will start off tomorrow with some L.A. Noir and hopefully finishing that one off. I’ll probably play a little WoW, but I’m finding that I just don’t have any real interest in that any longer. Maybe I’ll get to spend a little time with Witcher 2 as well now that I have a computer that can handle it.

Not much, I’m afraid. I’m playing the “family drops in for the weekend, yay, feed and entertain us!” game.

I’ll be playing some of the great indie games I recently bought on Steam: Frozen Synapse, Terraria and Dungeons of Dredmor. Maybe some Dead Space 2, since I’m in the mood for a good scary game and I haven’t got into that one yet.

Since we’re supposed to have a heat index of Surface of the Goddamn Sun this weekend, I believe I will actually have time to start on my gaming backlog. Final Fantasy IX is first on the list.

The weekend gaming will consist of me and my dog going to our first agility trial. When I have the time this weekend, I’ll log into Guild Wars for the Wintersday in July festival.

I’ll be playing Panzer Corps, Pride of Nations, World of Tanks, and I’m not sure what else.

I shall be jumping back and forth between a few games this weekend: Master of Orion II, Alpha Centauri, and Neverwinter Nights 2.

I want to unlock the next gun for my SU-85 in World of Tanks, and I’ll probably play a game or two of League of Legends.

Normally there would be more, but there are two other demands on my time: 1) Windsurfing season. This may or may not materialize this weekend (western Pennsylvania is too hilly to be consistently windy). 2) Some balancing and polishing work on my little homebrew RPG system, and some major work on an IRC bot so I can run a campaign for some college pals in the upcoming months.

I’ll be traveling, so it’s Radiant Historia, Okamiden and Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective for me.

Most likely Cthulhu Saves the World, but potentially Shogun 2: Total War and Transformers: War for Cybertron as well.

My weekend’s going have plenty of Cthulhu Saves the World, Dungeons of Dredmoor, and King’s Bounty: Crossworlds.

Dredmore for sure. Panzer Corps for sure. Some kayak building in between. Oh, and I am having some heart issues but I hope they dont fully materialize before I get to the 3rd dungeon floor in Dredmore!

IRC as in Internet Relay Chat?
If so: Wow that brings back memories of hanging around on Efnet back in my college days… :)
If not: Ignore me and get off my lawn young padwan! ;)

Game-wise I’m not really decided yet.
Probably continue working on Just Cause 2 and maybe some fooling around with some Indies (SpaceChem maybe).

Magic the Gathering. Not Duels of the Planewalkers. None of this newfangled online claptrap. I’m talking honest-to-goodness old school Shandalar action. I recently re-installed the original Microprose M:TG game and I’m going to give it a whirl for the nostalgia value and because more recent games have tickled my magic bone.

I started a Shandalar campaign last night and was immediately reminded just how damn hard (and less fun) Magic is with a shitty deck. I’m contemplating looking up cheats just to get my deck up to something where I don’t win/lose based on the luck of getting one of my few good cards in my initial hand.

Terraria. Dredmor. Maybe some LoL. Maybe some Panzer Corps. Maybe some Xbox Live Arcade loving. Dunno.

Definitely more Dungeons of Dredmor, probably something with dual-wielding and promethean (is that right?) magic. Maybe crafting. I like crafting. Everytime I don’t take it, I can’t find a decent weapon for shit (converse is naturally true as well). Oooh, and fungus. Definitely fungus.

Possibly Risen if I can tear myself away from Dredmor. I’d like to at least install Jagged Alliance 2, as the Front Page game diary got me intrigued, but I doubt I’ll get to actually play it.

That’s the IRC I mean. It’ll be more difficult to do my awesome voices, but it’ll probably seem less disjointed when I’m frantically trying to keep ahead of the players.

Guild Wars, Dungeons of Dredmor, and maybe League of Legends if I have time.

Perpetuum. Saturday is the day I lead our mega roam, and how can I terrorize the server if I fail in that solemn duty?

DoD
Lots of DoD

Then maybe some Battleship Galaxies: The Saturn Offensive.
