What the title says. I know of this place, GoneGold, the Shrapnel forum, Dominions X, and Mosehansen. None of them have available games starting up. For a game that seems this popular, that seems odd. Is there some site I’m missing?
Come to think of it, it would actually be cool if there were a find multiplayer component built in; where you could signal your request to a board for multiplayer, potentially even including a player rating, and it would fill slots automatically until a game was ready to go (this could be over the course of several days for a game like this of course).
Yes, but there is a lack of my being willing to host at this point in my life. I understand what this implies, but that is that; I do not have, and do not wish to take the time to learn how to set up automation scripts, and do not have the time to manage a large stream of emails from people in any sort of timely manner.
It’s not that odd only because Dom2 takes so long to finish. Most games average a turn every 2-3 days, and a game might take 75-100 turns to finish. So, for example, I love Dom2, but I’m not getting into any new games right now because I’m already active in two and semi-active (read: dying) in another. IOW, the game is popular, but many people are probably full up on games right now. Bruce’s player list page shows 11 QT3 games that have started since the game was released (most of them started early on). So far, only one of them has finished, and even that was because it was a “victory points” game.
As Jakub said, though, I’m sure if you start one people will play it. There are always new people picking up the game, or people who have been eliminated from prior games (e.g., when I finally die in Rob’s PBEM game, I’ll probably jump into the next game offered here).
instead of trying to find a game why don’t you make a game that you want to play? I don’t see how that could take longer than surfing 5 sites trying to dig up a game that you would like.
Because it will take a lot more time to play that game that I make than to play a game that I am not hosting. I may host later; right now I don’t have the time.

Okay, with no offense to anyone, my original question has been hijacked. I know I can start my own game. I did not ask that.
So I will restate: Am I missing any good sites to find Dominions multiplayer games from the list I originally gave?
I would suggest that the answer to this question is “no”; and that the reason people are suggesting you start your own, rather than directly answer your question, is because it is hard to say “that is the complete list of Dom2 hookup sites” and be sure one is right.
I would take the fact that no one in this Dom2-friendly environment has offered any alternative as good enough evidence that you have a complete list.
Well, I’ve posted for a noobie game, but I’m not sure you qualify as a noobie. Read the thread, and be honest. There’s room for exactly one more if you qualify.
I’ll pass on this game though, the game that I’ve puten ad about last week will start tomorrow, and I can’t really play more than 1 serious MP game at this time, have nasty deadline in my work in 2 weeks. But thanks nevertheless. :wink:
