I’ve already had me fill of indignation at high prices today. I read an article about the Star Wars immersive fantasy vacation/cruise/hotel thing. Holy shit that’s pricey, for only 2 nights!

I saw that, too. I guess it would depend on how, well, immersive it was. I mean, do you get to hang around in a real-life Mos Eisley cantina, complete with alien klezmer band or whatever? Do Wookies threaten to rip your arms off if you beat them at some 3D holographic chess game? Depending on the level of engagement and detail, it could be worth it for a real fan. If it’s just a few Vegas-like stage shows and a bunch of waitresses in Princess Leia costumes, eh, seems pricey for sure.

Also, the all-inclusive price does not include booze, It seems in the USA very few if any of these sorts of things include alcohol, whether due to laws or a desire to milk more money out of people I don’t know. But I know that I’d need something to make me forget I was paying that much to stay at that Star Wars thing.

(When we were young, my dad was on TDY and Mom took us (myself and two sisters) to see The Legend of Boggy Creek. Scared the shit out of us and we all ended up sleeping on the floor in our mom’s bedroom.
