I once flew to Tokyo on like 12 hrs notice to fix a massive IT problem. A big server was having recurring database corruption and a business critical application was suffering unacceptable outages.
While I was in the air the whole situation was resolved when someone swapped in a known-good SCSI cable for the one already in the server.

Me and SCSI cables have . . . history. And don’t believe the version you might hear from SCSI cables. Those fuckers lie.
