So I finished Lords of the Fallen this afternoon. I did enjoy the game, but it has it’s ups and downs. The final boss was annoying as hell with his healing and jumping around and draining your health bar. But he finally went down after I watched a few videos for help and got some good ideas.

I do think the games re-usable rune/crafting system was nice. Made for good weapon and armor experimentation. Overall the bosses were fun and while some were pretty easy others (at least for me) took several tries or a complete change of strategy.

And while I keep seeing it compared to Dark Souls, it is no Dark souls. But a good game in it’s own right.

Ack! I almost missed this, since you hid it in this thread instead of posting in the game’s thread. (You shouldn’t do that). I felt mostly the same about the game. I really hope it gets a sequel, it’s its own unique thing.

It has all the problems of a Borderlands game, though.

…amplified, which is why I hated it. Although it may have just been me getting tired of Borderlands and it’s number-shooter formula in general. (“Billions of guns!” Yes, but 99.999999% of them are vendor trash.)

That was the reason I couldn’t get into this game. I spent more time looking at weapon stats than actually playing.

It has been a major issue for me, too, compounded by the fact that I don’t think the stats are particularly representative of how well a weapon actually performs in action. I compare now by just shooting dudes with a couple different guns and just dropping the one that seems to be worse on to the ground. Inventory space is too limited to even bother with selling to the vendor.

I finally got X-com 2 and WotC. Going thru vanilla now and it’s so good. Soooooo goooooooood!!! Can’t wait to get thru it and do the WotC thing too. Did I mention it was sooooooo gooooood!!!

More Titan Quest for me. I’m trying get through Epic this time. After that, I’ll probably run through the base game with one of my other characters. There is an achievement if you play the game through using only one mastery that I might shoot for.

The Ragnarok one is long, but the story and voice acting is good. They really due a nice job touring around Germanic and Norse Mythology. You fight many of the creatures of Norse mythology, as you did the Greek ones.
The thrown weapons are fun, and the new mastery is nice for people that really want to do a magic warrior.

The newest DLC is a bit bare bones, but cheaper. A lot of the Quality of Life changes were added to the base game, but you get a set of side quests starting from Rhodes that are interesting and although its a full act, it’s a bit short. It does come with an area to fight waves of monsters, and 2 new skills for each mastery. Also, I like the new Tinkerer prefix on weapons. It allows 2 relics to be enchanted on it.

Anyway, I like it’s location. It makes tackling Hades a but easier.

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey (my current comfort game), Total War: Three Kingdoms, Atelier Lydie & Suelle - The Alchemists and the Mysterious Painting, and maybe something else like Sekiro or Soul Calibur VI.

I believe I’m nearing the very end of this game, but I’m having a very difficult time sealing the deal. The last few missions of the game seemed to have me criss-crossing the station from one side to the other, and the load times on the Xbox are absolutely unforgiving. I just don’t have the patience to spend 30 minutes out of every hour staring at load screens, but this weekend I’m going to try.

This game has a lot of little annoyances, several parts of it could use polish, but I wanted to shoot and the shooting itself is perfectly fine. It’s everything else that keeps this game from being as immersive and consistent as I would like. But it’s fun enough when I get myself into trouble.

It’ll be lots of swinging large weapons around for me, as I’ve been splitting my time between Dark Souls 3 on PC and Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate on Switch.
