Still almost nothing but Oxygen Not Included. Having played a few bases to almost space tech, I’m on a new playthrough that is very deliberate, trying to make each new construction as fail safe as possible, automating where possible, etc. Currently in the process of rebuilding/tweaking the radiant cooling system for my base and industrial zones. Next up is the oil biome, which I’ve breached in prior bases, but want to do very deliberately this round. Still quite a ways from space / end game. Having a blast, and this is just on the ideal biome. I’m sure I’ll need a break once I do it all in this case, but also am sure I’ll come back for more challenge on another map type after sampling another genre.

Also dabbling with Session: Skateboarding - will think of a cool trick or line to do each day, work on that for 5-20 minutes until I get it, mess with the replay for another 10 minutes. Awesome palate cleanser.

In addition to a bunch of time spent with two fantastic games, AI War 2 and Star Traders: Frontiers (the games I mentioned Friday), I also ended up spending half of Sunday deleting all my three-year-old saves and restarting Witcher 3 since I have no idea what I was doing 3 years ago besides porking Yennifer.

Witcher 3 is paying off in spades, and it has me totally hooked this time around. It ended up being my rebound game after bouncing off Outer Worlds so hard last week, and the differences between the two in terms of writing are just staggering. Because it’s still getting rave reviews, I’ll probably go back to Outer Worlds and just try to ignore all the NPCs, followers, and idiotic story beats and just try to enjoy the environments, exploration, and combat. I just need to decide if I want to do that before or after I finish Witcher 3.

If I successfully hook my switch controller up I’ll probably play some Hades.

It will be AI War 2 for me, plus maybe a little Darkest Dungeon and Star Traders: Frontiers.

I don’t have a clear plan this weekend - maybe Northgard, maybe AI War 2, maybe For the King. I confess, watching the (excellent) Castlevania series on Netflix has me wondering if there are any good Castlevania games on PC. I have basically no history with the series.

Well, there’s the recent Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, which I hear is a Castlevania in all but name.

And of course there’s the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow series, which I really enjoyed, but I seem to be a bit of an outlier on that opinion.

It’s a good series. It isn’t at all like the classic Metroidvania err Castlevania platformers, but it was good at what it did. And since vinraith hasn’t actually played any of the classic Castlevania games, there shouldn’t be any baggage to clutter up his feelings on the series. I think it would be a good place to start if someone has a preference for action adventure games (with the aforementioned Bloodstained being a great place to start if he’d like to experience a more classic Castlevania experience at its best).

Our tastes seem to run pretty similarly and it’s on sale right now so perhaps I’ll give it a try. Start with the first one?

Yup, and the first one is the best one, IMO. I enjoyed 2 (and its DLC, Revelations, is one of the best DLCs I’ve ever played). Mirror of Fate is optional and OK, I guess? The first one is my favorite, though be warned that its DLC content is pretty hard and a bit hit-and-miss.

Free weekend, but I’m mostly interested to check out the career mode which is what I find lacking in most racers:

Really fun game I would never even have known existed without Game Pass:

Some TD games recommended by Qt3:

Which I will compare to the best one (never tried on PC before):

And of course:

I plan on playing Code Vein, The Outer Worlds, AI War 2, and possibly Disco Elysium. I should also play Astral Chain.

That said, what I really want is dedicate some time to music since this weekend will be my best chance to do so in months. But I’m not sure I have the energy or the inspiration to do so, so I guess we’ll see.

Planning on playing The Outer Worlds, a little Disco Elysium, and continuing a deliberate (i.e., slooow) playthrough of Oxygen Not Included. Been playing a bit of XCOM 2 but that early mech mission is kicking my butt.

Have also started watching The 100 (morons) and will finish S1 and start S2.

Working the weekend, so probably just a few rounds of Antihero.

Some fucker (looking at you @Paul_cze) talked me into Kingdom Come Deliverance. Guess that’s my weekend then. And the next. And the one after that.

If you want the actual series, get the Castlevania Anniversary Collection on Steam. You shouldn’t play Lords of Shadow until you have some background with the originals IMO.

For the record, Lords of Shadow was my first Castlevania and I loved it, so YMMV.

Not saying it’s bad, but I think if you’re watching the Netflix series then the NES games and Super Castlevania IV give insight into where all that comes from. Bloodlines is just plain awesome as well.

Hey, thanks for the heads up. I haven’t had a chance to even look at the Steam sale so now I have… 3 hours?? to scramble and decide if I want this now or to wait 4 weeks for the Fall sale.

This weekend should be full of more Final Fantasy XIV thanks to the new content patch, as well as some Ring Fit Adventure and starting up The Outer Worlds if time permits.

Not sure how Konami does Steam sales. This is Halloween related of course so I don’t know if waiting will work necessarily?

No offense but no, I’m not going to play the NES or SNES games. Just not happening. It wasn’t my thing at the time, let alone now. If the plot’s relevant I’ll read a summary.
