AI War 2 (Steam)
I’m great at the early game, self-sabotaging at the mid-game, and usually dead by endgame. I love this game. I love the fleet management so much compared to other RTS games that now I want this system in all of them.
Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition
(Microsoft Xbox PC Gamepass or whatever the PC version is called)
I own The HD version released a few years ago, but everything is so minuscule I can’t enjoy playing it. I hear this one has zoom and a scalable UI, so I am excited to try it out and remind myself how cool Ensemble Studios games used to be before they went the way of the dodo.
But oh my god the Xbox Gamepass download is sooooo slow compared to GOG or Steam for me.

I need to continue my progress in The Outer Worlds, Gears 5 and A Plague Tale: Innocence. I’ll also start over in historic championship in Dirt Rally 2.0, as recommended by @Rock8man. I found the so-called “real” career mode lacking, but hopefully this will feel better.
I am become BACKLOG, destroyer of free time, since around Control, then Borderlands3, then Outer worlds ,then RDR2, then Unity of command 2, then CMO, then Jedi Fallen Order…I can’t stop buying games and not finishing them.
Fallen Order for me and probably a little Apex here and there when I need multiplayer.

I’ve just hit my stride with Starsector and I’m going to try for a colony this weekend. If I have time after that I’m thinking I might relax with an infinite funds game of Cities Skylines.
DivOrSin 2 if my brain works well enough, Civil War Ultimate General if I stop falling asleep going through the manual, and a variety of arcade games in any case (mainly The King of Dragons, the first Metal Slug and Strikers 1945 II).
Not Super Daryl (and thanks Chappers for helping me build a backlog on the switch -_-).

No kidding. Three weeks ago I foolishly thought I’d finish up the Fallout NV expansions. Now I’ve swapped out all my RTS and action RPGs for turn-based games or pausable games.
I also thought I’d play King of Dragon Pass on my phone, but that game takes way too much concentration.

For me it was having many Kerbals die due to errant vector corrections from grabby infant hands. And I played most of Witcher 3 cuddling my fussy middle child so that my wife could sleep.
But mostly it was Paradox games because when the baby is crying, then you need to stop rightthefuck now.

Just this morning I was thinking about CK2, but I’m not sure if I’m ready for a game that revolves around patricide, infanticide, and disappointing heirs.
I did have a bit of fun reading King of Dragon Pass out loud to the kid.

Is there any higher honor for Kerbals? As an aside, I had a blast introducing my nephew to that game after we visited the Evergreen Air and Space Museum. If you haven’t been yet, that’s a must see.

But alas the weekends have been too nice yet! I am going to spend every one outside until rain forces me in :)
Next weekend is looking a likely candidate.
Was going to play Dragon Quest XI but only just discovered there is a Dragon Quest III remake out for the Switch! Oh great joy! That was one of my favorite DQ games.

Xcom is SO good while nursing a babbeh. I played the 1st one on xbox when my son was a suckling. That game is never in a hurry. It will patiently wait for your input at every moment.
I think those bursts of machine gun fire might be my boys’ happy sound, from the amount he heard while drinking his milk.

It is almost perfect. Touch screen plus infant isn’t great with no undo though.
Which is why I refused to play ironman mode. And, yeah, that and Unity of Command were my go to games with my first.
I think it is a port of the mobile port, thread (tread?) with caution!
Cry me a river, we are playing the obligatory ice level of any platformer here.
