Is it ok to like both the movies and the books?

I liked Book 2 and Movie 2 the best.

I’m not feeling well so I wanted to play something chill. Northgard requires a bit too much alertness for how I feel. So, I fired up RiME. It is pretty relaxing. Some mild platforming, pretty simple puzzles, understated graphics, relaxing music. I also heard it’s short, which was a plus for me right now. I enjoyed my first several hours quite a bit.

I completed the first two worlds, so according to a chapter list I’m 40% done. My guess is that I’ve played at least 5 hours already, never really got stuck on any puzzle. I’m not hunting down collectibles. How long to beat says around 6 hours. I’m not sure why this is taking me so long. I wouldn’t care except there is just too much walking around between interesting things to do.That is really the only big complaint I have with the game. It just feels like I am constantly walking, walking, walking.

I decided to go back to Mafia III of all things today. The adventures of Lincoln Clay in faux New Orleans circa 1968. Killer soundtrack. Any tips on successfully escaping the cops once they’ve spotted you?

RiME wrapped up a little faster than I was expecting so that was good. Still a lot of walking and what felt like wasted time. I know I’m probably supposed to be soaking in the atmosphere, but I’m just too impatient for the pace of the game. Still, I’m just barely happy I saw it through to the end. I’d say either quit before the end of the second area or stick with it.

I approve, so it’s okay. I do too.

I think one is more likely to love the books if one read them before the movies arrived, or indeed before computers arrived, as I did. Back then, if you wanted to know what happened next, you had to keep turning pages. So I did, obsessively. I loved the books, lore and all. Still do.

But I can understand when my kids, having seen the movies, don’t have the patience to read through the songs and poetry that are sprinkled so liberally throughout the books.

They suck at cornering. Get good at that.

I think you are correct and accurate here.

I read the books at boarding school, and had read them several times before I had reliable Internet or my own phone, let alone Internet ON a phone!

I honestly don’t know if I could read the trilogy again now.

I have a lot of me time to myself this weekend, and just unlocked a lot of stuff from Humble, so first thing will be the 2013 Tomb Raider game, which I’ve never played, but now own all three in the new series, so I need to start from the beginning. I also plan to return to Assassin’s Creed: Origins after taking a break to avoid burnout. I’ll also be trying to finally pass my type rating flight in Air Hauler 2 so I can start taking actual missions. This along with the usual Lord of the Rings Online, Strike Fighters 2 and Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor should make for a fantastic weekend all around.

Apex Legends and Titanfall 2 on PS4 along with Killer Queen Black and some arcade games on Switch from the Konami Arcade Collection, Sega Ages and the Arcade Archives (Gradius, Salamander, Ajax, In the Hunt, Space Harrier, etc.)

Eeeeexxxxcellent.

I fired up a PS4 Network for anyone that’s come back. 9PM Eastern for double XP Happy Hour. The campaign is still awesome and it auto levelled me into “Hard” so I guess I’m pretty good at the game now. That felt good.

Depending how long people played, there may be maps you never saw in the multiplayer that were added later. It’s free with PS Plus!

There’s one smoking a joint,
And another with spots!
If I had my way,
I’d have all of you shot!

Going to have to try out Halo Reach. The XB game pass has me hopping manically between games, which is not something I historically have done. Not sure I like it. The hopping between games that is, still have yet to play Reach.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall on Xbox One. This game has me hooked.

Darksiders Genesis on GOG. Great game so far.

Pillars of Eternity : Deadfire one more weekend!

Glass Masquerade 2 a bit in the evenings while watching tv.

Maybe I need to drive faster cars. I’m decent enough at cornering (turn into the skid and all that) but I can’t shake them. I haven’t yet finished winning over the Irish guys though.
As to this weekend, so many choices what with Humble Classic games.

I will be playing all the Phoenix Point, all the time. The wife is away for the weekend.

Also I enjoyed the books and the movies but LOTRO bored the crap out of me.

Definitely more Bard’s Tale IV. My original party’s getting a little ragged for the level of challenge presented, time to tear 'em down to the studs and rebuild with a clearer understanding of the mechanics. Should be fun! Can’t go trudging around places like this without a well-tuned group.

Knack! I don’t know what type of game it is, but I’m excited to play it after 5 years of dancing gifs.

I’m actually playing games again!

I just wrapped up Ori and the Blind Forest.

I’m continuing to play Through the Ages on iPad. I really like it, but the games last too long for me.

I think I’ll finally start Unity of Command 2.

I’ll play Phoenix Point.

Maybe some Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, but playing that has made me want to get back into Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice for some reason…

Also Pokemon Sword, and been back into Fire Emblem Three Houses.

It’s too much, so I’ll probably choke and spend most time trying to decide which! :D
