Quest is the name of a vr headset
Haha yeah sorry, as mentioned above ‘Oculus Quest’ is a mobile VR system! :)
I just looked it up and I had no idea such a thing even existed :O
I became obsessed today with playing the arcade racing game Horizon Turbo something something that came with Humble Choice/Classic (the name is so generic it’s hard to remember).

I played a bit of Hades, a bit of Monster Hunter World, and that was pretty much it.
I also played with Rust (not the game, the programming language) in the always fun Advent of Code. Only up to day 3 so far, but it’s been fun. Good times.

I basically didn’t play anything but Starlink. I spent the rest of the time being mauled by my cat during injections.
I did try playing Age of Wonders Planetfall for a few minutes, but I wasn’t feeling well so I napped instead.

Very little time to game during the holidays but I was back into Strategic Command World War II: Europe at War for a couple hours.
I started the new Fire Emblem on Friday night. Now I’m over 30 hours into it. At least a couple of those hours were tea parties with my murder squad. Good times.
The Switch version has a whole bunch more content for StarLink because of Star Fox. I think that’s the best version of the game if you end up digging it enough on Xbox.
It’s like $10 in store with the Arwing at Best Buy.

Thank for the info, but I think I got all out of the game I’m going to get.
I like the casual nature of the shooting, upgrades, and grinding, but the NPCs (both on my crew and the various factions/outposts in the wild) are a bridge too far for me. I just hate their voices so much. I also can’t stand any of the characters, but it’s the voicework especially that causes me distress. This is where a) silent protagonists, and b) isolated experiences like No Man’s Sky win all the awards for not bothering me with annoying people.
I wish I could blow up my own capital ship, the Equinox, with everybody inside.
It truly is. For such a simple game it really gets its hooks in you. The soundtrack helps.
The name is Horizon Chase Turbo for the record.
Yeah, I have heard that about the main game, but I do think some of that is rectified in the Switch version. I own it but haven’t tried it yet mainly because I got it for $10 the last time it was on sale but never got around to unboxing it.
I did what I always do, start playing some new games from my backlog (Sekiro, Okami) without even making a dent in the last ones I was playing (The Outer Worlds, AC: Syndicate, Kingdom Come).
Does Sekiro get much harder at some point? It’s tough, yes, but I played for about 2 hours and died a lot less than I did in the early stages of Dark Souls/Dark Souls 2. The first boss I came across gave me a hard time, but after a few tries I got him. Being able to sneak up and assassinate targets or get the first hit in really helps keep the frustration down. So far, anyway.
It’s probably just me, but
and that was with an assassinate taking off one of his two lives. :)
I find some of the earlier encounters a little more frustrating because of the stealth. The need to spend time sneaking around picking off targets before engaging a tougher enemy, and then doing it all again when he kills you in 1 second.

I recently got back into the original Gothic with a bunch of community mods and patches. That led me to try ELEX again and now I’m addicted, so lots of that. Also some Borderlands 3 with the new Handsome Jackpot DLC.
I grabbed more stuff to play… But it appears I have barely played 15 hours in the last two months, so I’m wondering what the hell I am doing.
Played some Slain (cool little action game with a simple but somewhat intricate combat system, from the Valfaris guys), Fight’n Rage (super intriguing beat’em’up) and ESP Rade Psi (Man, the game teaching lessongs are awesome!), and I intend to play some more.
Still haven’t 1cced The King of Dragons.

I just picked up a whole bunch of Winter Sale stuff on respectable platforms like Steam, GOG, Xbox, and Switch. So while this list might actually change dramatically, at the moment my plans are as follows:

West of Loathing (Switch)
I don’t know anything about this game except that it gets rave reviews and it was on sale.

Police Stories (Steam)
A slower more deliberate type of top-down shooter. No idea if this has pacifist non-lethal playthrough options.
An action game that lets me beat things up.
