That’s part of the idea behind brutalities.
Killer Instinct does it right for the most part, you have the option to end the ultra combos early (some folks don’t though)
I consider KI to be what I wish Mortal Kombat was.
I don’t know why I’m putting so many hours into this game since it’s still in Alpha, but I get a teensy bit compulsive about ARPGs sometimes (Grim Dawn for hundreds of hours, Diablo 3 for thousands). I’ll be playing it a lot more over the next couple days too. My weekend is going to look a lot like my last few days, Droxy.
I finally upgrade the CPU on my wife’s machine so I’m hoping this game will run better for her and we can spend a lot of time playing this together on Sunday. The game has been on hold for a while as I had to mail order her upgrade. Her machine runs Guild Wars 2 and WoW fine (to be fair, a toaster can run WoW), but hates this game. If the CPU upgrade wasn’t enough (I suspect her old one was bottle-necking her video card), I may have to take more extreme measures (all of which will simply cost more $$$).
I suck at this game compared to the Medium AI and probably have a 35% win rate. I plan to fix that sometime over the next few days. I’m tired of being a last-place loser.
Remove Drox 2 from my list and add in Grim Dawn! I still haven’t done much with the latest expansion.
Since buying it, I’ve dumped a lot of hours into Drox 2 already, but I’m gonna wait until there’s genuine sequel material added in before diving back in.
So far the game I’ve played was Persona 4 Golden on the PC. I never imagined this day would come, but I’m glad it’s here.
I might also play a bit of Prey, and perhaps a bit of X4: Foundations and Drox Operative 2.
Wow a couple of weekends of replaying old classics, revitalized!
First Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, and now it’s Persona 4 Golden on PC. Not really enhanced or updated in any way but it’s still as great as I remember, and looking sharp on a modern display.
I’ve also been playing some No Man’s Sky
I’ve been playing the episodic King’s Quest game that was released a few years ago, been in my backlog forever. Holy crap, I was pretty shocked by how great it was! It has a lot of the modern conveniences and yet still harks back to the old school adventures and some pretty brain-bending puzzles. Makes me want to go back through some of the old Sierra King’s Quest games, think I already own them on GOG. I think this game had lots of callbacks to those games that I only partially remember, at best. Would be cool to see how this ties into those older games.

Which game are you talking about? My wife loved those games and if one had been remastered or a new one along the same lines developed she would love to play it. I played KQ7 I think, the one in the series that really didn’t match any of the others.
This one:
Edit: I just noticed Chapter 1 is free, and that’s probably the longest chapter. Totally worth taking a look out to see if you or your wife might like it.

Grim Dawn (Steam)
Exploring DLC I’ve owned a while but never touched.

Torchlight 2 (Steam)
It’s a travesty this game didn’t get proper DLC.

AssCreed Origins (Xbox)
I hate this series because of how bad the games are, but I need to finish everything in my backlog by 2022 so I can upgrade to a next gen console after the first or second price reduction.

I am playing BGEE and also Dark Souls 3. With BGEE I am replaying the game for the first time in probably 10 years, still a lot of fun. With DS3 I am basically done but enjoying the PvP aspects, and the co-op.
I loved Dark Souls 3. Except for one particular area and fight, I enjoyed it more than Dark Souls 1.

DS1 will always be my favorite, or at least the first 60% of the game, but I do like DS3 best overall.
Path of Exile in the new league, natch. Also OOTP 21 for my continuing baseball fix. And maybe…uh… perhaps… a bit of … Cloudpunk (but in all honesty, probably not).
What little gaming I’ve been doing lately has been on Switch so possibly some more Final Fantasy XII and Torchlight 2.
I may also get back to some games I stopped playing pre-COVID-19 on Xbox One like Sekiro, Mass Effect 3, or Monster Hunter (I keep trying this one since it released and always after around 30 minutes, I stop playing. It’s just not hooking me, but I know I need to give it more time).
If there’s time, Jedi Fallen Order which I started a couple of weeks ago and haven’t gone back to.
Maybe I need to stop buying handhelds - I notice that aside from using them to game on the go, I tend to get lazy and just game from the comfort of my bed an hour or so before each bedtime and there goes my gaming time; can never make a dent in my MASSIVE backlog on the Xbox One. And with no commute time since I’ve been working from home for three months now, I am using the Switch (or Vita/3DS) for a bit after breakfast or lunch time (when I can just as easily turn the Xbox on).
I’ve been feeling the call of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, so I’ll probably play a good amount of that. Also X4:Foundations if I get the chance, and more Persona 4 Golden.
Desperados III
Thus far I made a lot of not so nice screenshots. I put Quick Load on F12 (…Steam’s default Screenshot key).
Bloodborne is my current goto game.
Tetris Effect is my other goto game.
West of Dead is the new hotness. I tried it yesterday because it was added to Game Pass, and I love it so far. It’s Bastion crossed with Dead Cells.
I don’t feel like digging up graphics. This weekend for Space Game Junkie I’ll be recording vids of EGA Trek. I WAS gonna do that last week but then a new space game – Star Sonata 2 – dropped on Steam a week ago and I had to cover that. I might also do some one-offs like Project Starship X or Solar Rogue depending on how much time and energy I have.
I’ll also be streaming Evil Democracy: 1932 and Far Cry 2.
For myself, definitely more Bloody Rally Show and probably some Starfighter: Infinity as well.
Should be a good weekend!
This plus a rousing game of Piss Off My Neighbor once I finish rearranging and setting up my new speakers :)
I’m thinking Shadow Empire, Persona 4 Golden, Age of Wonders: Planetfall, and maybe get some exercise on the Oculus Quest.
