Still Pathfinder: Kingmaker, but also Vaporum: Lockdown which is exactly the dungeon-crawling goodness I was looking for. Also dabbling with other things, like Still Not Dead which is a first person rogue-lite arena shooter with some interesting mechanics.

No Man’s Sky, pretty much. Not as much gaming time as I’d like, though.
So far it’s been all Morrowind for me. Just exploring and looting tombs etc. is pretty fun; I’m not really interested in the main quest this time and the I feel disinclined to join any of the factions. Did all that the first time. I guess this time I am role playing a maverick who wanders the land and does his own thing, man.
Spelunky 2 and Dragon’s Dogma (Switch) with some Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous (Alpha 2) in there as well.
I think later this afternoon I’ll organize my office a little and move out my plush chair so I can bring in a card table to set a keyboard/mouse on and plug my PC into the 4K Samsung in here to put the 3080 through some 4K gaming paces, see how that goes.
Finally starting to piece together my new PC, after being without it for 8 months. No GPU yet, so only on integrated graphics, but it’s nice to play some new games. This weekend is the Wolf Among Us.
Ended up playing No Man’s Sky from square 1 for several hours today. Tutorials have gotten better, although the game still starts pretty tough. Overall the new player experience is much better thought out and paced fortunately.
Yeah I ended up mostly playing No Man’s Sky too.
The latest experimental build seemed to improve VR performance for me, which is cool. It’s also a bit crashy, which isn’t so cool. :)
Also played a bit of Super Smash Brothers Ultimate with the kids, as well as Streets of Rogue.
Was thinking Hades but the game has been really unstable and the save system sucks, so instead I’ve been reading my Helenisto-Roman mythology books again.
And Huntering Monsters for Generations, Ultimately,

This probably isn’t the thread for it, but how is No Mans Sky in VR? I love the game, and ended up playing it way too much this weekend, and will be purchasing some sort of VR soon’ish - This is one of the game I really look forward to trying out.
I love it.
It’s well-implemented, as far as games that had it added later in life go. The whole game ‘just works’ in VR, and you can play alongside non-VR people.
The only thing missing is text entry, so it’s a pain to name your creatures and worlds. I stopped doing it because of this.
Whereas most converted games would not use touch, this is touch controller only. There are complaints that it doesn’t support a normal controller in VR, and you have to use the touch devices to fly by gripping a virtual stick and throttle. It’s not ideal, but it’s fine for me - ship to ship combat is not a thing I do a lot of. And touch controls work so much better than controller everywhere else.
People also complain that it doesn’t work well room-scale - I only play seated.
Performance is rough, even on top hardware. It’s had ongoing CPU spike issues. On planets you’d spend most of your time running at interpolated half frame rate regardless of settings, only getting full frame rates in space.
But some people say ‘it runs fine for me’. Though they never really say what that means…
Happily things seem to have improved a bit in the latest experimental version that came out yesterday. Performance can still be rough but I’m getting full frame rates on planets some of the time now. :)
Even with all that, I can’t go back to playing on a monitor. The immersion, sense of scale, and just the coolness is sublime to me.

Thanks! That’s an excellent write-up! There’s quite a few things I don’t understand, but thats probably because I don’t currently do VR. For instance, I don’t know what room-scale means, nor touch devices :-)
I have a rather beefy system, so I hope I can run it well!
I REALLY look forward to the immersion, and the scale! This, Subnautica and Skyrim is what I really look forward to trying out.
A-ha I can help!
‘Touch devices’ are controllers, you hold one in each hand and their positions are tracked. Each usually has an analogue stick and some buttons.
I'm sure you would have seen these Oculus ones before

They basically allow you to have ‘hands’ in VR that match the position/orientation of your hands in real life, so you can interact and manipulate things intuitively.
Room scale is basically where you play standing up and can walk around in your play area (which means you walk around in the game without using analogue sticks).
The opposite is ‘seated’ where you play sitting down like a normal game, using analogue sticks to move.
Many games use combinations of both, because obviously you have limited space to walk before hitting something. I believe No Man’s Sky has a warning if you move too far away from your ‘home’ position. There are mods though.

Thanks again! Appriciate all the info! This all makes me really excited for it!
Oh, I am envious! Good luck and enjoy the ride!
My plan was to play No Man’s Sky this weekend, but I ended up playing SnowRunner on the PS4 Pro and having a blast. There’s something extremely satisfying about driving around in these wet/muddy conditions and completing what at first appears to be an impossible task. The map design is fun and challenging, and graphics look amazing even on console. This game has it all for me.

I went to apply a modlist to pretty things up, but apparently it will take a day of me pressing buttons unless I spring for nexusmod premium.
A lifetime pass is worth it. It also helps keep them in business.

ohhh - wabbajack? Which modlist did you choose? And yeah, at the very least, get a months subscription. Its very much worth it!

I wanted to try total visual overhaul, but apparently it needs to be updated. So I was going to try living skyrim, and ran into the press this button and read it can take 24 hours without premium.
