I aint in no hurry. But thanks for the tip!

RDR2 is in my wishlist, but I guess I’ll wait for a deeper sale. Maybe at 50% or something.

big fat Subnautica Below Zero patch so I’m going to head back underwater for a bit! Or I will try to, but my friends are most likely going to drag me back into WoW…

I’m removing Subnautica from the games I will play this weekend and replacing it with:

Observation (Xbox One)

I didn’t know Subnautica was a crafting game. I was hoping it was similar to Amnesia or Soma, but underwater. I don’t want to play a survival crafting game right now so I’m calling in the b-team.

Observation is described as:

Observation is a sci-fi thriller, putting the player in control of a space station AI in order to recover from the sudden, mysterious loss of its crew.

Observation is really well crafted and doesn’t overstay its welcome. I think you’ll enjoy it.

Maybe when you’re done with Observation you can tell me what happened.

This weekend, for Space Game Junkie, I’ll be playing/recording Space Crew. We’re having a family Zoom gathering on Saturday so then we’ll be playing some Jackbox games. For myself, I’ll be playing Battle Brothers, which I just got in the Steam sale and am enjoying very much, as well as more Bloody Rally Show and likely some Star Fleet II as well! Should be a great weekend.

Fun! I really enjoyed Bomber Crew, though it can definitely be frustrating at times (and I totally cheesed my way through the game by backing up my save after each successful mission, heh).

I’m quite looking forward to it!

One Finger Death Punch 2 (Switch)

Wow, what a game. After wishlisting this game because it showed up in last year’s Game of the Year lists, I was recently reminded of the game by a Switch eShop sale and grabbed it for $2.

This has been my go-to distraction since the election started a few days ago, and I’ve put so much time in now I’ve completed 7 of the 8 (known to me) available maps. I recently hit a road block and have been unwilling to progress until I finish this one particular battle that I keep crashing and burning on when I’ve only got 10-20 kills left. I breezed through all but one map leading up to this once, but the timing and enemy dispersement on it just gets me every time. I expect to get through it in the next day or so, and maybe I’ll finish up the game by the end of the weekend.

GemCraft: Frostborn Wrath

I’m not very far along in this game yet, but as I unlock more gem/tower types, and figure out other ways to modify the playing experience, I’m seeing a ton of potential here far beyond other tower defense games I’ve played. Where I found myself loving (and binging on) Ancient Planet for its straightforward no-gimmicks take on the genre, this game seems to fall way at the other end of things, with all, sorts of cool things to tweak, unlock, and consider when diving in. And while I’m sure I’ll enjoy the game, I seriously doubt I’ll come any where close to 100%ing it like I was able to do with the last TD game I played, Ancient Planet.

When I’m not finger-punching ninjas I’ll be defending mana blobs.

I’ve been deep diving the entire Age of Wonders series (except AoW2, because Shadow Magic does it better) and trying to glean what each game does well, not so well etc, and which is overall the most “fun,” and why.

So far, I think Planetfall has the best mechanics, closely followed by AoW3, but SM has the most magical feeling, very closely followed by AoW1. It only beats out Aow1 imho by virtue of having more races.

This weekend I’ll probably play a lot of Gujian 3, a great-looking and great-sounding Chinese RPG.

Other than that, maybe a bit of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey to wrap it up, and maybe Anno 1800.

AoW1’s art is so much better than SM though. I mean, SM is the better game overall I think, and I adore both, but AoW1 is so damn pretty.

It is certainly very clean and easy on the eye.

Oh hell yes.

You might be a little surprised at what happens when you “finish” the game.

Wish you were on PC, we could start up a Qt3 Survival score-war! (I assume the leaderboards are platform-specific, but maybe I should check!)

Going to try and power through to put Dark Souls 3 to bed before the new consoles arrive (and specifically the Demon’s Souls remake).

I think I’m Morrowinding down.

I was able to get a constant effect levitation item made for my character, which kinda feels like a win condition for this particular playthrough. But maybe I’ll trundle through some of the Bloodmoon and Tribunal areas, which I never did back in the day.

Traveling in style

Can’t get away from cliff racers though:

Thats looking pretty good! Lots of mods?

Just Morrowind Graphics Extender, which can make the water fancy and extend the draw distance and add some nice sun/lighting effects. The landscape parts of MW hold up quite well - the character models not so much of course.

Let’s not exaggerate! Esthetics really are a personal thing indeed :O
