GF and I watched this as my sole concession to her annual hunger for horror movie binging. She’s more than welcome to consume this stuff on her own time, but I really don’t care for them at all. So down the rabbit hole I crawled along with our plucky auteur and his dutifully doubting Thomas as they investigated nefarious nuns and tried their best to look upset at possession footage filmed on a $300k budget.
But at least this one had plenty of “CATHOLICISM BAD” to go along with the jump scares and creepy child laughter in darkened hallways that always get me so tensed up and unhappy, so I guess I can probably sleep okay tonight, my descent into dreamland eased by burning anger over my own upbringing and the horrors the Church visited upon the Irish over the centuries!
I give it 7.5/10 Not-For-Armandos.
