I’ve quit going to CNN because of that. EVERY article now autoplays a fucking video and I can’t find any way to stop it.

Brave. Brave is the truth and the light (until proven otherwise).

Interesting. It lets you anti-virus video?

Yes, it blocks all autoplay by default, if that’s what you’re asking.

Wow, that was some serious autocorrect that I missed.

Thanks

Does Brave have/need any ublock origin equivalent?

Sometimes I watch Twitch (yeah, ha ha I watch Twitch!) and there are the weirdest damned ads that turn up. But there’s one in particular that I could call rage inducing - it’s an Xfinity commercial about some dude playing games online with other dudes. There’s a series of these ads, but one in particular shows this guy eating cereal and talking with his mouth full while milk dribbles down his chin and I find this absolutely infuriating. I mean, who thinks this is a good ad? For anything?

I run it without and have no issues.

I use uBlock Origin and I’m pretty sure there are some lists you can subscribe to that eliminate the Anti-adblock warnings.

I just downloaded the Brave installer and was planning on testing it. I’m told it addresses the “we are Google, all your data belongs to us” baloney in Chrome.

Just use uBlock Origin’s eyedrop tool.

I’m not sure how nerd it is, but I can’t switch the door swing on my Samsung washer. It’s not new, and I hauled it from old home to new home but because the dryer vent is on a weird side, the machines are reverse so… blah.

At least the dryer is better, but this whole set-up, not being able to reverse them, seems so dumb to me.

We have the same problem (and a new Samsung washer!) Our allocated space for dishwasher/dryer is small, and the washing machine has to be on the right hand side, and the hinge is on the left.

Given the choice between that and the old non-functional top loading unit we had, I’ll gladly accept the minor inconvenience for machines that otherwise do the job well.

I’m about ready to install a mesh node in my front tree so my phone stops connecting to my neighbor’s crappy xfinity wifi first when I drive home. Can’t wait for them to move out. (I use an xfinity network at a couple coffee shops, so I don’t want to totally forget it.)

There is an app that you can use that connects to a preferred network based on your geographical location. That might be a simpler solution.

I’ve never seen non-reversable doors on front loaders. That’s weird and annoying.

My Samsung washer is the same way. Dryer door flips with two screws, washer door is not adjustable. It’s pretty dumb. We had to change the sides our washer and dryer were on (which means the dryer vent line and water lines had to be longer to swap sides). Very annoying. Didn’t realize other brands didn’t have this issue so my next set will be a different brand.

Oh I think I get it, duh. I’ve assumed the washer door won’t switch because you don’t want to lose “watertight-ness” by flipping it over at home. The dryer door is less crucial since you won’t end up with a flooded laundry room if that isn’t sealer properly.

I didn’t realize this either mostly because it’s not something you think about when you get it set-up, and it’s right the first time.

I am under the impression other front loaders are interchangeable. And if there isn’t a solid lock in place when you turn on the washer, it just won’t start. The seal around the door is mostly the flexible material and since that’s round… well it fits either way!

Yeah there are no mounting points on my washer on one side, it’s “sided” by the lock mechanism and door holes.

People I care about dying. My nerd rage is overflowing with grief.
