Umm??? why don’t you like… ??? … errr!! hmm!!!
This reminds me of a Guardian article a couple years ago
I use exclamation marks in my work email! And smiley faces. :) I am probably insufferable but I simply can’t afford to give the impression that I am the IT curmudgeon that lurks inside me.
I have to agree with that one, I find it very off-putting when I see “uh” and “er” used in written communication.
… is the reason I refunded Control after spending half a day downloading it and three minutes playing it after a 50% off sale last week.

I played it muted since I don’t like the scary, ominous soundscape.
You guys must enjoy Ju-on, the best of both.
I don’t mind vocal things being put into writing if it’s intended to convey a conversational tone.
The real monsters are the people who can’t end a god damned sentence without an ellipses.
Not even kidding, I’ve ignored posters because of the violence they insist on doing to the language.
I think a not-insubstantial portion of my writing style is just trying to capture all the various tics of my conversational tone, so yay!
Uh oh. . .
Oh, I guess you won’t be able to read these replies, anyway, then. . . sigh. . .
Also, who was it that got triggered by my use of line-breaks on Qt3 posts?
I’m probably a little overly fond of ellipses. But what really gets me is when people forget the period when it’s used at the end of a sentence. . . .
I’ve often wondered – quietly, to myself (although sometimes also aloud to others) when I’m feeling introspective – how people deal with my tendency toward multiple levels of nested independent and dependent phrases: a habit I picked up when, as noted above, I really began trying to capture my thoughtful and sometimes (let’s be honest: frequently) rambling conversational style; I can’t say that such wondering has ever made me consider, even briefly, that I should stop doing that, however (much as I’m sure some people – present company excepted, of course – would like me to).
Brevity is the soul of wit? Fuck that.
That’s exactly what I was thinking.

The constant grunting and gasping is about half of the reason I skipped FF7Remake.
Nerd rage? The torn/healed/torn/healed/torn ligaments in my shoulder that flare when gaming. Nerd rage.
Un-repairable according to mutliple docs.

This topic must not die.
Drives me bat-shit ****** crazy:
YouTube instructional/how-to/review/info videos with background music. Why oh why do they do this??? What makes you think anyone wants to listen to your music tastes? And even if I don’t hate it, what would compel you to put it in a video that is trying to convey knowledge to its viewer?
Distracting? YES!!!
Unnecessary? YES!!!
Annoying as******??? YES!!!
Why???
