This thread made me remember how much I loved Sam & Max Season 3.
Of their most recent style of game, I’ve only played Walking Dead season 1, The Wolf Among Us, and Tales from the Borderlands, but of those Borderlands was by far my favorite. They really did a fabulous job with both the story and presentation. Each episode has a really memorable intro. For example:
I also have Puzzle Agent, but I never stuck with it. I think I should. I keep having this problem of starting the game on one device, but then losing my saved game because I moved to another device and forgot to back things up.
If you’re being serious, they were the operators of a ton of the highest profile cynical, exploitative Facebook “games” (e.g. Farmville). Probably rolled that into cynical, exploitative mobile “games” but I haven’t been paying attention.
Well that totally sucks. I can’t say I buy all of their games, but pretty darn near. Guess those DC and Marvel partnerships must not have paid off like they hoped.
Ninety though, I mean that’s got to be a deep cut, they aren’t really very big as far as studios go, are they?
I did regret a little bit their pivot away from actual adventure games, like the Sam and Max games, you know games with actual puzzles. But stuff like The Walking Dead and Batman have been pretty great from a narrative standpoint, too.
I’ve liked all the season of Walking Dead, in fact Telltale’s take is the only one I actually like, but I agree that none have matched the first. I am curious how things will wrap up.
