25 seconds? That just sounds like so much work. Somebody summarize it here instead.

Something tells me that you’ve looked behind the wrong book case.
And hey, argue with the man insisting, Brett.

Hans - Great, always more volunteers for their details being sent off.

He’s making a list, he’s checking it twice

On balance do you think that if your constituents read this thread that they’d be more or less likely to vote for you next time around?

By the way, you spelt the name of your constituency wrong on your blog.

It’s about time this thread died. Monster threads make searching for things very difficult. I’ve never understood the need to keep reviving old threads with vaguely related new stories. What’s wrong with a new thread?

I think you did it wrong.

I’m leaving that as “Yea, that’d be the wrong book case then”.

You should sue that guy for plagiarising your posts on Israel then.

The correct way to do it is to Google “aka Dawn Falcon” in quotes, by the way.

Ah, another volunteer from the hive mind. Line up, line up!
Don’t worry, I’m sure nobody everyone involved will be nice and keep things peace…oh my.

god fucking damnit, he’s a David Weber fan. Now I’m gonna feel filthy when I do my regular reread of Honor Harrington.

Oh, not just ANY fan, I have a couple of paper ARC’s around here somewhere…

so you’re a superfan of one of the vast crop of Baen’s super-mega-tory authors? Doesn’t that chafe?

Oh heck no, it’s not like he’s John Ringo or anything. Although I did do some RPG work for John before his writing went really batshit insane. Also, the left of sci-fi is no less prone to becoming so…

Also he’s a dedicated monarchist and hates progressive taxation.

And “Into the Black” was worse than anything Ringo’s ever written which is saying something.

So we see!

I liked The Legacy of the Aldenata Series personally. Yes, even the watch on the rhine.

I rather like most of Ringo’s writing, with the glaring exception being the Paladin of Shadows or whatever the hell it is series that even Ringo thinks is trash.

He may be a right-wing nutcase in a lot of ways, but a lot of the criticisms leveled at him aren’t particularly fair, and he’s entirely willing to make fun of himself and his own writing.

Of course, a lot of the criticisms leveled at him are entirely fair, but one can say the same for Weber (infodumps, odd sociopolitical beliefs, odd tax-related beliefs, and a certain lack of imagination as compared to, oh, Bujold).

Maybe i am crazy, but i don’t care if some writer, actor or director is an insane nutjob. As long as they keep it out of their work, they can do whatever they want in their personal life. If i can keep out of it by skipping long rant interviews with the author after the book is ended (ie The Legacy of the Aldenata), that is fine too.
