We might have a replay of this in Canada tonight, depending on how it goes. If the Liberals win a plurality, they can probably form a minority government. If it’s the Conservatives with the most seats, the current PM probably still has the first shot.
Israel can potentially use its guns with impunity now I guess. Which may be the only way to earn respect with Drumpf/Putin (or whatever supra-national alliance of dictators they’re trying to form).

From what I read, Netanyuh is doing everything he can to stay prime minister, because as prime minister, he won’t go to jail until all his appeals are completed. He doesn’t get this protection if he is the deputy prime minister.
Hmmmm… a leader who will go to jail the moment he’s no longer in office? Sounds familiar.

Honestly, if Netanyahu wasn’t the guy, his party could almost certainly form a government. It’s him, personally, that is creating the conflict preventing them from putting together a coalition.

What an idiot (big surprise)
As a Jew, I see this and say to myself, what the absolute fuck? I’m a citizen of the USA, my nationality is American. I have cultural, family, and philosophical connections to another aspect of my identity, being Jewish, but that is utterly separate from my nationality. I don’t pledge allegiance to the flag of Israel. I don’t pay taxes to the “Jews.” This whole thing is such a colossal idiocy.
It doesn’t even make sense for the intended purpose, as fucked up as that purpose is. They want to withhold federal funding to universities that join the BDS movement, which is a movement aimed at a country, not a religion. If they think BDS unfairly discriminates against a nationality, they can already make that case. Declaring that a religion is a nationality just gets them back to the point they were already at, but does tremendous damage along the way.
Next I suppose is making it illegal to criticize Russia’s actions in Ukraine or China’s actions in Hong Kong by framing such actions as discrimination.
Interesting that the Soviets/Russians have been using “Jewish” as a nationality for decades.
