It’s happening

Wonder how long they’ll have to quarantine before going up, given the circumstances.

I read there’s a two week quarantine before every flight, pandemic or not. Back in the day Apollo had a back up crew also quarantine for two weeks at the same time which is why they were able to replace Mattingly 3 days before Apollo 13 went up.

Makes a lot of sense. Even if someone brought up just the flu (put your pitchforks away!) it could be catastrophic.

It is really encouraging that NASA has managed to extract itself, from grip of the Boeing and ULA. Despite Lockheed and Boeing political brilliance in making sure that so many of the jobs were located in key Congress critter districts.

It gives me some hope that we may actually return to man space and get to Mars.

It will be a long time before either “go away” Boeing still has SLS and Starliner which despite problems arnt going anywhere. ULA is also heavily entrenched with NASA and the Air Force. They will very likely be one of the two awarded with the upcoming Air Force block buy contracts. Still SpaceX has fundamentally changed the rocket launch business and now are doing it with their Dragon vehicles.

I think we know the answer. If you haven’t read this, it’s worth a look.

The year is 2380. The Intersolar Commonwealth, a sphere of stars, contains more than six hundred worlds interconnected by a web of transport “tunnels” known as wormholes. At the farthest edge of the Commonwealth, astronomer Dudley Bose observes the impossible: over one thousand light-years away, a star . . . disappears.

Maybe they are tired of us staring at them all the time?

I’m a bit of an optimist, I think that SLS and/or Starliner are going to eventually be canceled.
But I’m sure you are right about the Air Force they aren’t dropped ULA anytime soon.

FYI - for those who like to watch these things - there’s a launch scheduled for this afternoon.

Ingenuity: The drone that’s scheduled to fly on Mars

KAWAIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!

Very cool :)

Wow so very cool!

Mmmm… A 3D model of Jupiter with all the different cloud layers would be nice to play around in. It may not be possible for another few decades, however.
