The weather report for Seattle is bleak. The only real option is to drive east of the mountains, where it’s usually clear. That means mountain passes while it’s probably snowing. :/
Rained so hard last night I heard it on the roof. Welp, there goes that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Great clear night here last night. It was easy to spot them in the SW sky (if you can see that part of the sky), and really nice to see. I had to cross the street to avoid houses and trees blocking the view (it’s quite low in the sky)
Pissing down here, too. Maybe I’ll fire up Space Engine and watch it there.
Griffith Observatory, livestream.
Posting this in large format for now. I’ll hide it later.
Very nice. The sky where I am is completely covered in cloud.
What type of omen is the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn?
Is that atmospheric distortion or are they holding that telescope up with their arms?
It is supposedly the star that showed over Bethlehem during the Nativity.
So thousands of years of religious strife and war?
Caught a look before clouds came in this evening. Gorgeous. Wish I could have gotten a picture or two. Perhaps tomorrow.

Cloudy and rainy tonight for me. I might have a chance the next two nights.

We got a really nice view of it here. I have a nearly unobstructed view of the western sky from my backyard now. (I recently moved.) And the sky has been super clear here in San Diego for, well, months.
Sure, but also lots of presents!
That bellyflop still makes me nervous.
Wood and metal are pretty much equally dangerous while they’re up in orbit, but the idea is that the wood satellites would burn up much more cleanly when they re-enter the atmosphere.
That would allow Ikea to enter the space industry.
But imagine the assembly instructions…
