I wonder what the new launch date will look like if they do happen to find that something in the bowels of the telescope was damaged. I suppose thatâs better than launching a $10 billion instrument into space only to find out itâs damaged beyond use, though.
It would be nice to see the results of the project before I die of old age though.

They should have built 2 of them.
That sounds like my autobiography.
I sure hope they donât mix up the launching of the Web telescope with crashing into the asteroid. Although, I bet we could get really great picture of the asteroid.
Looks like SpaceX are getting closer to launching the 29 engine beastie.

Unfortunately, the Raptor production crisis is much worse than it had seemed a few weeks ago. As we have dug into the issues following the exiting of prior senior management, they have unfortunately turned out to be far more severe than was reported. There is no way to sugarcoat this.
Seems like selling some Tesla shares could help SpaceX get past these issues.

Take said quote with a grain of salt, of course. If starship isnât successful yet testing could scale back to reduce capital expenses while Falcon rockets keep them solvent. But theyâre pushing that thing hard, and creating a ton of R&D cost for it. This seems like a direction from the top directive rather than literal go bankrupt position.

Russian space program is so pathetic.
In preparation of JWT launch, here itâs a nice article to read

That is an amazing photo. I canât believe itâs even possible. FWIW Pluto orbits at about 39AU, so less than 1/3 the distance from our sun as that first planet is from its sun. Voyager 1 is about 150 AU out right now, so not quite the distance of the inner planet after 55 years of travel at ~17 km/s.
