LOL they’re not going to show it full screen.

Look at that gravitational lensing!

Zoom out further! Make the image smaller!
ya know, what would really have been effective is if NASA had taken a “here’s the best possible picture we can get with Hubble” and then slapped down a “AND HERE’S WHAT JAMES WEBB CAN DO.” That would have seemed like an obvious “FUCK YEAH, THIS IS AMAZING” moment.

They keep switching to Bill Nelson’s face because it’s also 13.5 billion years old.

What was that last line? I wonder what the press is like in those places?
AND THE TV DIRECTOR GETS IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA
That’s true, and even seeing a zoomed out pic on a stream you can tell just how amazing an image this is, especially since it’s one of the first captured.

This is so anticlimactic. Might as well turn it off and wait for the full res photos tomorrow.

Wait what just happened lol. It’s done? Well thanks Mr President, screw you too.
The Hubble Deep Field was taken over the course of 10 days, and this was just less than one day for Webb. Imagine if it had been 10?
Direct link to high res pic.

Holy shit, now that’s what I’m talking about.

would love to see them reconstruct what the lensed galaxy’s look like after processing how the gravitational force of the foreground object distorted them.

That’s the good stuff. Thank you.

Helllll yeah ty for the link
I wonder what was causing that gravitational lensing. Has to either be a galaxy or a black hole, right?
