God that’s beautiful.

That is stunning (assuming it’s not a sausage).

Sausage is beautiful in its own way, don’t be provincial.

This is a pretty awesome view, as well

I can see my summer house there!

I can see my summer sausage!

We already post this?

It was in the WTF 2022 thread, but I think this works.

Normally this would be funny, but so many people are already suspicious of science, this does nothing but add fuel to the fire.

I love how the black heat tiles have transformed the look of SpaceX’s Spaceship into something suitably Evil Empirey. Those tanks in the background make great thruster pods too.

SpaceX domination of the launch industry continues to increase. If/When Starship starts flying regularly, the competition will look even more puny

Not sure where to post this, but for our Utah residents did any of you see or hear this meteor today?

“Space is big. You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it’s a long way down the road to the chemist’s, but that’s just peanuts to space.”

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the GalaxyDouglas Adams,

Artemis-1 on the SLS is rolling out to 39B as I type this out for the Aug 29 launch. About a million are expected to come to the Cape to see it.

I love these night rollouts (livestreaming now).

I still remember being a kid and the excitement of an Apollo launch. People would gather around TVs and gape in well-justified awe as the Saturn V lit off. Of course, I also remember watching the moon landing on a crappy black and white TV, too.

Once shuttles started becoming routine, until Challenger at least, I think some of the fascination wore off, and after that disaster (which I also remember vividly, as someone at work had a TV out in the non-secure areas and was watching the launch) there seemed to be a big drop-off in public interest.

Nothing quite as spectacular though as watching those monsters blast off.

I think the Falcon 9 landings are the most impressive thing to see. Plus their cousin the Spaceship that one time :)

Plants in space!

Ohh that’s so awesome!
