Bit of a lazy question but I figure I can get the answer here. I’ve gotten into Just Cause 2 but can’t help feel that it would control a lot better using the controller. I went through all the hassle a year ago of doing this before I formatted and it seemed to involve doing some serious shit to your pc and I was wondering if things had gotten any easier since then. If anyone could provide a link to the easiest, most up to date way of doing that, that would be great.
Buy a wired 360 controller. There, that’s the easiest solution.
(Or the Saitek Cyborg Rumblepad which is even better.)

Assuming you mean DualShock 3, you need MotioninJoy.

I bought a 360 gamepad for PC. Pretty cheap too at only 2600 yen! Or at least cheaper than an actual console gamepad.

Yeah, MotioninJoy works great.
Given that the wired 360 controller has full Windows driver support and is directly supported by a large number of Windows games, Just Cause 2 (I believe) among them, it’s almost certainly a better bet than hacky third party tricks to use unsupported controllers like the DualShock (1 2 or 3). I know I’ve had way better luck with mine than I did with my PS2 controller converter back in the day.

Yeah I’m sure I could get my Ps3 controller hooked up but in the long run its a hell of a lot easier to just plug in the other one. Heck I might even figure out why people love the 360 controller so much (or hate the ps3 one so vehemently).
MotionJoy is super easy with a DS3. You plug a USB cable into the controller, install MotionJoy’s signed drivers (from inside the MotionJoy application) and set it to emulate a 360 controller. It works perfectly, and transparently for games.

Yeah but there is still the issue of the DS3.

The PS3 controller is too small.
Its plus pad hurts my fingers. I hate Nintendo’s too. Can’t do diagonal on them. I like the rest of the Dual Shock 3 though.

I had a lot of trouble with MotionJoy and just borrowed a 360 controller instead. Need to buy one now.
Do girls tend to find the 360 control too large for their hands?
…where did that come from? Are you asking on behalf of your daughters or something? If so I suggest they should simply try one at the store.
Everyone complaining that the PS3 controller is too small. I’ve never loved the XBox controller and didn’t want to admit that my hands are the same size as my wife’s.

I play console games on the PS3 but use the xbox PC controller. I felt the same way. While I don’t hate the PS3 controller like everybody does, I can see why people prefer the xbox controller. The only thing I don’t like is the d-pad.
Saitek Cyborg Rumblepad: 360/PC compatible wired pad with a proper d-pad and reversible left-hand layout.

I ended up buying the wired 360-I figured that was less of a headache than dinking around with something that was never meant to be done. Perfectly happy with it but I wish all games supported it as well as games like JC2 or Bastion. It’s not any better or worse than the PS3 controller-just different. Concave or convex triggers make no difference to me. I think color coded buttons might be a bit easier to remember than shapes though.
