What's your go-to comfort food?

Is there a secret family recipe you swear by?

Creamy Rice Bake. My Mom made it for me a couple days ago as I’ve had trouble maintaining weight post transplant.

It’s got ham, rice, cream of mushroom soup, cheddar cheese, sour cream baked into a casserole dish. Truly defines comfort food.

Mac and cheese. Any. Mac and cheese.

My man.

But without the hot peppers. That’s not traditional.

Cheese steak and a side of perogies.

I am sure one day its what will end up being my final meal. :D

Pickles?! How dare.

Quesadilla, grilled cheese, peanut butter & banana sandwiches, spiral ham, baked mac n’ cheese, pot pies, grilled burger patties or bratwurst with mustard.

Conversation between staff at Best Buy this week: “bro. You don’t like their mac n’ cheese? Explain yourself, bro. Prove to me that it is bad.”

Heh, I’m totally with that guy.

Can it be sweet? Classic NY style Cheese cake with berries on top.

I see cheese is a theme.

My family does an amazing Kung Pao Chicken. It’s a huge favorite.

With melted cheese on top, amirite

Chili or meatloaf

Chicken wings in a variety of flavours

Chicken and dumplings, where the dumplings are cut up pieces of Pillsbury Grands (Buttermilk flavor preferred, but others are fine). Just had it this past week.

Yeah, for me probably chili. Or smoked brisket. Both remind me of home.

Pho. Nothing like it on a cold day with a hangover.

I’m going to ruin this party with a healthy choice: oatmeal.

Not just plain oatmeal. With banana and apple slices, almonds, topped with some chocolate chunk granola, a light drizzle of maple syrup, and lots of cinnamon.

Or this substitute: blueberry pancakes with all the above except the granola (and obviously, oatmeal).

Either of these with a mug of very strong black coffee, and I’m in a good mood.
