No 2080 Ti FE date yet for me, AFAICT. Nvidia order status is still ‘Order Received’.

My card arrived yesterday evening, I had time to unpack it from the Amazon box so far and snap a picture, heh. I’ll install it on Friday.

You should have gotten an email from Nvidia stating that it will ship on 10/5. Check your spam folder?

This is unprecedented. RTX2080s are available for shipping right now at below MSRP. Guess Nvidia didn’t present a compelling argument for consumers.

MSRP is actually $699 for non founders edition cards, but they will take forever to hit that price, if at all.
The colors make the card FEEL faster. Guaranteed!

That was technically the case for the 10 series as well, but in reality there were very few cards that ever came close to the non-founders’ MSRP. This was a clever way for Nvidia to raise it by a hundred bucks.
Anyway, the fact that cards are available to ship so soon with no nowinstock.net shenanigans required is a major indicator of an unsuccessful launch. I can’t remember the last time that happened.

2080ti is OOS everywhere.
But yeah I too am amazed to see a few 2080’s available to order (Zotac cards never even went OOS once! Who buys Zotac! Lol) , even if they are shipping a week later.
Price and performance at launch probably had a lot to do with it also, factor in tax and its near $900 for 5% better than 1080ti performance.
@stusser have you looked at the RTX2070 specs/price at all? Who the hell is that card even for?
I did, once. The card worked fine. I think my current 970 is a Zotac, actually.

I’m sure it’s 100% price/performance.
2070 will have a niche once 1080s are no longer available, I guess.

All I know is there better be RTX and DLSS features working in games before the end of the year.
By the time they are implemented in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, I’ll be done playing it. :|
Guess Hitman 2 and Battlefield V will be the next 2 games up this year?

Look at this beast from Gigabyte:
That is one big ass card.

Gigabyte is Taiwanese, so that should offer them a price advantage with the tariffs. Many Chinese companies need to move their manufacturing to Taiwan, Gigabyte is already there.

I’m starting to come around on the 2080. I just listened to the Full Nerd podcast and they were positive about the DLSS technology giving it, potentially if games support it, a big performance and image quality gain over time. If the 2070 supports it too, it could a reason to get it over the 1080, maybe even the 1080Ti if the 30% improvement turns out to be true.

They are often first on the market with mini/ITX sized versions of high end cards (e.g. 1070 / 1080) by several months.

These prices are insane. I’m sorry, but there is no surprise for me if they aren’t selling out. It is out of the range of the vast, vast majority of PC gamers.

The Asus 2080 TI with a blower fan configuration just showed up online in a store here. $1670
I could buy a gigabyte 2080 TI from one of our suppliers for about $1400, pre-tax.
I’ll be sticking with my 1080 TI for the foreseeable future.
Holy crap, that’s even more than the EVGA card I pre-ordered.
