Not strictly GPU related, but, um, related: I had an issue where my 2070 Super suddenly seemed to not output via the DisplayPort connection. I left the machine to do something, and when I came back and woke it up, the screen was black and I only could get the “DisplayPort No Signal” message from the Asus monitor.
I tried different power cables from the modular PSU, reset the video card, swapped in my spare 1070 Ti to make sure the power/MB was ok. Even swapped the 2070 into another machine and still nothing on the DP cable (only one of my monitors, the Asus, has a DP port). HDMI worked fine on any machine. After looking online, though, I found an issue with this model of Asus monitors where the exact thing happens. Turns out, unplugging it from the power cable for ten minutes or so fixes the problem. Doh.
Heh, you ever feel like getting rid of your “spare” 1070 Ti, let me know.
I wonder how long the 3xxx release will be delayed due to this shit storm? #firstworldproblems

I had a odd thing like that with a monitor of mine that would happen every once in a while, and the only way I could clear would be to completely pull power on the monitor. I finally replaced the monitor at the holidays with an LG 1440p 144hz monitor.
Edit: Heh, I missed the last 2 sentences I guess. :) yeah strange problem.
I’m wondering the same about Big Navi.
This is my 144hz monitor, hence the DP connection. It’s a fabulous monitor, in terms of how stuff looks, but it has a few quirks.

Mine was an ASUS 60hz 1440p monitor from a few years ago. It was a very annoying problem happened a couple times. Then didn’t happen for a long time, or I think maybe I was using my 4k monitor in its place for a while. I went back to gaming with it last Fall, hit the problem again, and spent a couple hours before I remembered the last time and the resolution. Decided at that point to grab the LG monitor during Black Friday. 144hz is nice.
How about trying with a different cable? I hate horrible cable problems before, with both HDMI and DP.
That was the last thing I did before I figured it out, bought a new DP cable. Well, now I have two perfectly fine cables, which is ok, because my wife needs a new monitor anyhow. But I always check the cables first.
Does nvidia no longer do control panel profiles so I can define a couple of resolution or specific desktop configurations and switch between them easily?

I don’t remember if that was ever in the NVCP, but I have been using DisplayFusion for the task.
Hmm, I needed to adjust some scaling to get PBP working on my 43" 4k and DF did not seem to offer a change of that settnig or pick it up from the NVCP.

Try drilling small holes in it.
Damn. Been hoping they would still have this
I get to feel less dumb for paying for a 2080S. Every cloud…
Don’t know if these are a good deal for anyone here…
When I see refurb card for as low as almost $1000 I know I’m never going to be a top of the line PC type guy ever.
Wait til that Mnuchin guy sends you your check :)

An impressively ugly tech demo.
