My PC is near my bed. The last thing I want is a goddamn laser light show when I’m trying to sleep.
True dat, I want it silent, dark, and out of the way under my desk.

+1 truth here. I don’t understand people who put their PC up on their desk tops. If I could put it down the hall in a closet I would.
I have mine on top, but I have an adjustable height standing desk and the cable management was going to be a nightmare otherwise. Also, I wanted easily accessible USB ports.
Yes, I am planning to put an ITX case on top of a standing desk.
That would be ideal, if I was building a house I’d definitely do it. Just run all fans full blast all the time.
I have a standing desk with my PC on the floor. Cable extenders (or longer cables) for everything were around $40.
So, is PCI 4.0 likely to benefit these cards at all?
A new leak, which again may be complete bullshit. Unknown Nvidia GPU showing a 30% uplift from the RTX2080ti.
If this is the RTX3080, we’re good to go on the 30-series, nice uplift. If it’s the 3080ti or 3090, expect another round of bullshit sidegrades.
And if it’s the RTX3070, the 30-series will be legendarily great just like the 10-series was.
I am still running a 1080Ti and still not sure an upgrade would yield me any noticible results in the games I play (though I will still upgrade to a 30-card given the right factors for the ray tracing, I suppose). I mean, I can only get to 144fps on any given title, and at 1440p the most demanding game I can think of is probably Warhammer 2 - which I get around 80-100fps playing. That 1080Ti has been a work horse for sure, best card I ever owned.

Same sentiments for me too, I guess. But I will most likely upgrade because it’s already two generations progress and won’t cost me a dime. But I’ll be damned if I go for the model with the same amount of memory or less. The only way my mind sees going forward is with more memory.
And no more silly AIO watercooling model this time. So very noisy on high GPU usage.
Next-gen consoles all support RT so if you want a console equivalent experience on cross-platform games, you really have no choice, you must upgrade this cycle.
Note Navi2 may also be an option, we know nothing about that at all. Maybe AMD will finally step up.
Have you seen the rumor that the reason the card we saw had fans on opposite sides is because there’s a ray tracing coprocessor on the back of the card?
I haven’t, but I kinda doubt that will happen.
You lucky sod. I have been saving up for about 15 months now to get a new rig come fall.
Just to clarify, I was just agreeing with you regarding the awesomeness of the 10 series. I fully plan to upgrade at some point.
Ah, someone who hasn’t played Kingdom Come: Deliverance… ;)
