10gb on the 3080 and 8gb on the 3070, it was shown in the presentation.

Big dilemma between 3080 and 3070. That’s such a small price difference for a card I’ll probably use for 4-5 years.

Then again, I definitely don’t have the monitor to take advantage of the 3080 today, nor will I in the next year or more - 1080p ultra wide here for the foreseeable future. Makes me wonder if it makes more sense to go for the 3070 with plans to sell second hand and upgrade only once my monitor demands it. Even 1440p would be an upgrade that works within the 3070…

10GB was mentioned. Now I don’t whether I should wait for the 20gb rumored version or get the 10GB now.

So, what 3rd party press releases/spec sheets are out yet? I see Gainward, Zotac, and that Asus one.

I saw a Gigabyte one earlier today about the 3090, in two different models.

Anyone else refreshing Amazon and the Nvidia store?

I will be going 3070 because of the lower power usage, but I agree. For a brief moment I thought the same thing (only 200 more)

Did we get actual power numbers for the 3080 or 3070 yet? I’m half tempted to grab the 3080 at that price/perf, but not if it’s going to be as bad w/r/t power as leaks indicated.

Yep, refreshing, @MichaelD. :) We are still left with the question ā€œWhen do the next generation GPUs drop?ā€

They claimed 1.9x performance per watt, but I don’t think they gave TDP.

Ah, notification signup on Nvidia.com now.

edit: right here

Rumble is that AMD is going for 12GB/16GB on their Big Navi boards. Nvidia will probably go 20GB because, as sales data shows, you give the consumer two boards that have comparable performance and price, the one with more VRAM wins.

You see that all the time when budget cards tout a ridiculous amount of VRAM.

Man that 3070. Now I wish I hadn’t paid $300 for an awesome quality 1440p monitor. I never expected I’d be able to reliably do 4k60 for $499 though.

I’m all in favor for AMD getting the upper hand. We desperately need some competition to bring in progress(Go Vorlons!).

Personally, I’m sour on AMD after my last one(5850), but I really don’t mind them getting ahead.

Have to think the pricing on the 3080 is all about anticipating Navi. At that price, I’ll be a happy camper when I can finally put my build together. Of course, I can only hope these aren’t just ā€œpaperā€ prices and in reality they wind up being $200-300 more.

As I’m waiting until Zen 3, this is going to be interesting.

Give me the deets, EVGA.

It is 100% based on AMD competing, yes. This is what happens when you have competition. Consumers aren’t getting fucked.

Is this actually working for anyone? Launches a signup box in German for me, then does nothing when I click the Send button.

Worked eventually for me. I switched from Safari to Chrome, not sure if that mattered.

Just use this link instead…

I think the original poster is in Germany or something.
