For my new system I’m planning on getting in 512 gig M.2 to boot off of and then probably a 2 TB SSD for games. That seem logical?

Nope just get a 2tb NVMe.
Remember that an SSD will start to drop in speed as it gets closer to full, so getting extra space on your first drive helps avoid that and also leaves a slot open for the future when you start closing in on that 70% full line.

Only on writes, and gaming isn’t write-intensive. I wouldn’t worry about it too much.
you’re not a filthy save scummer i see.

I totally am, but savegames typically aren’t very large.
Yes, although some of us use our PCs for more than gaming. Or at least I assume we do?
My gaming PC is pretty much dedicated.
I’m envious; I have to at least pretend to do work on mine. ;)

Nothing I do for work is heavily write-intensive either. Basically it doesn’t matter unless you deal with huge media files.

Nothing to worry about there. AMD will announce their new stuff before September 17th. They would be crazy not to.
Moar rumors :

Big Navi at $549 ?
16GB ?
Will it compete with the 3070 or the 3080? QUESTIONS!

Earlier rumors said it competed with the 3080, but that pricing rumor clearly implies otherwise.

They’re not gonna make a splash charging more than a 3070 unless their card competes with the 3080. Hopefully they make something official before the 17th.

Wow it really improves the eyebrows.
Anybody use the Corsair ssds? I could get a 2TB MP600 from Newegg today for 323 usd, which seems pretty good. The Asus mobo I ordered has an m.2 heatsink but I ought to be able to leave off the mobo heatsink or the one on the ssd.

I don’t have one but a quick google says it’s fine, TLC with cache.
