I try so hard with you Stusser, but you can be a right git sometimes. I asked because the way you phrased your statement made it seem like the release date was 9/18. I was mistaken, I read your post wrong clearly, but there isn’t any reason to be a dick. There is almost never a reason to be a dick, in fact.
Marketing’s gotta earn their checks somehow. I guess for Gigabyte it’s Eagle < Windforce < Aorus or whatever.
I don’t see what all the commotion is. He confirmed that it was on 9/17.

And of course, the RGB lighting on the card will make it at least 10% faster!

Depending on the color, from what I have read on the internet, can provide different enhancements.

If you re-read my post it does not in any way say or imply that, but I wasn’t trying to be a dick, just a reply dashed off quickly.
As for $700 cards being hard to find, that’s always been the case-- it was nigh-impossible to find a MSRP GTX1080 back in the day too. There were a couple, in the months after launch, but they weren’t very good.
As for cosmetics, if I could save a single penny buying a card with Goatse printed on the side in full animated holographic living color, I would do so. I don’t look inside my case, there’s no window, I keep it quiet and dark.
Lies, Red gives more FPS.
Then that’s my apology, it seemed like you were being flippant or in some way kind of a dick. A simple, “Correct” would have been better, but I’m maybe a little raw after getting some unpleasant news this morning, so I should probably step away from other people for a bit, even virtually. Thanks for the clarification.
It’s cool, man. This year has been tough on all of us in some form
THAT looks more like a 3080 competitor than the earlier leaks.
Edit - it’s late. That’s gotta be the 3080ti

That’s got to be a Titan. If it’s a Quadro it’s not remarkable, they already come in huge memory. But a Titan at 48 GB would be a step up over the previous 24 GB Titan.

I remember upgrading to 48k of memory.

Even as a longtime PC gamer and hardware enthusiast, all this is actively turning me off this hobby. Or maybe I haven’t seen how the muesli is made to have the shady tactics of the industry ruin the enjoyment for me until now.

I remember buying a Super Expander for my VIC-20 to add 5K of memory to move it all the way up to 8K.
This whole launch is so frustrating. I assume the 3090 NDA’s going to be right before its launch. So if I wait until the 3090 performance is out to decide whether to buy the sensible card or the stupid card, the 3080’s are probably going to be at the X-weeks backorder point already.
Given that I want to play stupid-demanding flight sims like DCS, P3D, and MSFS in >4K VR on a Reverb G2. I’m thinking I wouldn’t have regrets on a 3090. But it’d be nice to be able to make an informed decision instead of being manipulated by NDA dates.
If the 3090 benchmarks are out on the 17th too, I’m a happy camper. But the posts about the 3080 number delay certainly didn’t imply that’s gonna happen.

FWIW, since inventory will be scarce for a month or so, if you buy a 3080, you can probably sell it at least at cost to recoup your money if you decide to go for the 3090.
I mean, it’s a business and these particular products aren’t exactly tools of benevolence so I expect profit being the primary motivation within this niche. I think that’s why any expressions of passion and innovation are especially prized by me, such as unusual or attractive cases and even silly stuff like RGB. But on the same token, I totally get being turned off by the cutthroat business side of things.
