ResetERA, so probably a million orders so far. :)

LOL, I should have ordered CDW tix for a celestial Moon cruise as well.

To encourage them to ship mine, I selected the over night / next day shipping, the most expensive one. :P

I’m sure that will help.

There will no doubt be a few more of these early accidental listings or price errors. I’ll resign myself to the Thursday morning chaos.

I try for all of 'em, completely protected with a credit card. Would not risk it on debit though!

I wonder what the profit margin is on a 3090.

No charge on the card yet.

Good point.

I have owned several (Three I think, all Radeon) pny graphics cards. My current machine works better with an impeller-style Card because the mobo is rotated 90 degrees (cards hang from top of case). For a good while, pny had the best cooling solution for that style of card, but they moved away from that when the nvidia 10 series cards came out. So I haven’t had one for a few years.

Anyway, I had pretty good luck with them, though one died on meafter a couple of years. They used to have a lifetime warranty, but don’t think they still do.

Hope you guys get them!

Put it in for the hell of it.

I can’t believe they haven’t even bothered to fix it yet. I wonder if it’s just a scheme to get more user accounts and site traffic.

Same - I just went to order and noticed this has been out there for hours. There’s no chance I’ll get it even if they honor the misprice, as they’ll be out of stock by the time they process mine.

I’m curious what the business logic is for charging credit cards, holding the money, then cancelling orders. Is this to temporarily pad the books to make investors think the company is profitable?

I don’t even want a 3090. I am planning a major upgrade though, so here’s hoping the order cancellation comes with discount coupon that I can apply towards something that I actually want.

The cards aren’t being charged. However, it drives eyes to the website, hopefully generates member profiles, people get disappointed with emails saying the sale was cancelled but then hopefully look at other stuff while there.

I don’t know if ANY of the above is true, but there’s some logic to it and all it costs them is for their site admin to be a little lazy and then a mass email.

Most stores don’t charge before shipping, that isn’t unusual and doesn’t mean anything one way or the other. But again, they aren’t going to honor that price. Maybe, maybe, a couple people will get it. The vast majority won’t.

Bored… so poll.
What are your plans in the next 3 months?

  • RTX3090
  • RTX3080
  • RTX3070
  • RTX3060
  • Unannounced RTX30x0 card ( waiting on Super / ti version?)
  • Something RDNA2
  • Sticking with a RTX2000 card
  • Sticking with a GTX card (1080ti etc)
  • Sticking with a Radeon Card (not RDNA2)

Fixed it , I think someone tried to vote already while I was editing.

You can just shut down the poll.

Saving this for when you greedily change your mind.

Waiting for someone to vote for RDNA2. :P

LOL - I may wait to see more about what RDNA2 really has to offer before I commit, but unless I’m surprised I’m planning on 3080. My only hesitation would be from the rumors about cut-down 3090s (12GB) and beefed up 3080s (20GB) being tossed about.
