LOL well they were sure quick to charge me for it, so I hope it’s shipping soon.
EDIT: Now it says “estimated to ship 9/17” so fingers crossed.
Unbelievably so, I suspect. I refreshed all my tabs at 7:59:30 by the world clock and saw the CX3 Ultra (the card I was aiming for) ready to and by 8 when I had ordered it the site was down, and by 8:03 all the sites that weren’t still down on my tabs were “auto-notify”. It was that fast. Less than 3 minutes. (That’s what she said).

" GEFORCE 3080 NOW AVAILABLE
Customize an ORIGIN PC desktop with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card to get high-performance in games, realistic ray-traced graphics, cutting-edge AI features, and the greatest generational leap in graphics."
So I can order one in new Orgin PC…standby for ship day estimates.
edit: 29-31 days but it is a Founders Edition…supposedly. Hmm.
Edit 2: They confirmed they are gettign more FE’s and are pretty confident in the ship date! Of course that is going to cost me about $300 more than I want to spend to get from Origin but it’s pretty tempting. I did sell some AMD stock to fund this… hehe.

Scott, you don’t need a 3080 to play Spelunky 2! Let me get it off your hands.
Congrats! So jealous!

He can play Spelunky 2 at like 450fps.
LOL well, 144 at least. ;)
The worst part is, and I won’t make any friends with this statement I realize, I won’t really need/use it until Cyberpunk comes out. My next few games are Spelunky 2 and Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access, which my 1080Ti can chew up just fine. Though now with a 3080 I will check out Metro Exodus, a game I played way back at launch on EPIC, so that might be fun to revisit now with RTX.
I guess I’m going to be waiting a good year or so for a 3070 because I refuse to play the F5 game. Oh well

Making the rounds of the big builders I see Cyberpower-pc now has a 3080 system showing too. My internal debate about buying a system now or waiting for availability and building my own is in full force. It may be a bad day for the wallet.
So you buy an entire system and then take the GPU out to install in your own system. You can probably sell the rest.

I am pacing around in circles trying to decide to just pull the trigger from Cyberpower, Ibuypower or break the bank on Origin. I should really just wait a bit for AMD’s next round of CPu and GPU’s but I’ve been waiting for months and already returned a super rig last month after playing with it for a couple weeks (Microcenter 2800 super rig). I am also not opposed to building my own but it’s been a decade, i have terrible luck on these things and I am lazy with a wad of disposable cash. I’ve literally been panning this for about 6 months and combined with Covid cabin fever I am going bananas!

Right there with you. At this point I’ve been holding off on a new PC for more years than I thought possible. It’s going to be a tough morning. I’ve spent so little on hardware in recent years that i don’t even think the circuit breaking of asking my wife’s input on the expense is going to trip.
Worst part of the 3080 reviews is that now obviously upgrading my aging 1080p to a 1440p isn’t enough, must go full 4k.

Don’t apologize, man. We’re a literal forum of gamers here and ONE person seems to have gotten one. Consider it a punctuation mark on Nvidia’s failed launch.
I’m EXTREMELY happy for you and happy somebody got one here.

I know this isn’t the right thread, but there is decent company building gaming PCs that doesn’t use a bunch of LEDs everywhere? I just want a boring black box.

Also happy for you, hope all 3 fans on the card work. ;)

I’ve been known to snip power to led lights in systems I buy. The worst was an Alienware laptop a few years ago with the back side of the monitor glowing like the sun when the system was on. One nearly disassembled laptop panel later … success.

At least you weren’t these guys.

Any time’s a good time to ask for less RGB in your hardware!
Good news is most of the lights cost extra! All the shops I have looked at have less to no bling options. Except for ones attached to hardware like MB’s etc, Unfortunately, most gaming grade stuff has it. However, you can turn most of it off as well.
