F it. I gave up and just ordered a new complete build out from NZXT. They emailed me they had stock, quick chat with Mrs. Hope in customer service and order was placed for a custom build. Estimated ship date is 9/29. Bring it on!

Fingers crossed no issues!

Dude, Zen 3 is in 2 weeks.

It’s announced in 2 weeks. Will I be able to purchase it in 2 weeks doing the F5 dance? If not I might as well wait another 2 weeks for AMD gpu announcement. Will I be able to purchase it in 2 weeks doing the F5 dance? I doubt it.

I can chase upcoming tech all day for years and never buy anything. I’m perfectly content that I just got a fantastic new gaming PC that is years better than my current one.

Eh, I think you’re pretty safe not waiting on Big Navi if you’re getting a 3080. But there’s every reason to think Zen 3 is going to be a material improvement on anything currently available in CPUs, even if you can’t get hold of it immediately. Also PCIe Gen 4 if you care about that, though there doesn’t seem to be much reason to at this point.

Interesting. Not sure I want an evga Card, but if 3070s end up being hard to fret like the others, I might consider that

There is always better tech right around the corner and the system I got will serve me fine at 2K and 4k gaming for next 4 years or so.

If I thought I could actually buy one in 2 weeks I prolly would have waited. I suspect it will be a month or 2 to before you can get one without the headaches and stress. Maybe I’ll be wrong and have buyer’s remorse. I doubt ill give it much notice as I will be in my ignorant gaming bliss by then.

I get the itchiness. I’m sitting here with my MSFS barely playable on my rig and some massive games landing soon. I really, really want to buy a new system. But a month or two isn’t long to wait to avoid buyer’s remorse on something that’s going to last you many years.

Oops, yes, typo. It’s an ASUS TUF Z490-plus wifi.

2 months on top of the 6 I have already been waiting… Couldn’t do it :).

Stupidly enough here is how it went down this morning:

Me: This sucks! I got no hope of getting one of these! (after another 3 in my cart failing)
Wife: Oh Honey, keep at it, don’t lose hope.

Me: looks at new email from NZXT, goes to their website and builds one out.
Seems pretty reasonable on price, reviews are solid. I wonder if they update bios and drivers on custom builds and do a burn in.

MJ enters chat: “ask questions above”
Hope enters chat.
MJ hits buy button.

LOL I figured my service rep being named Hope was a sign. Trigger pulled.

If you don’t want to wait, buying a prebuilt is certainly the easiest way to pay your way out of the situation. And NZXT BLD is good kit.

Technically it was a custom and not off the shelf “prebuilt” I didn’t like corners cut on the prebuilds (weak memory and PS). Plus they tend to sit around on shelves with outdated driver and bios. I want plug and play as much as possible. Price was about $200 more (including assembly) + $50 for shipping than I could have gotten piecemeal without agonizing over deals and stock.

“G.Skill has created a contender for the best all round DDR4 memory on the market. Some users will prefer a 2x16GB kit, but if you’re a gamer or overclocker looking for something top shelf, you really need to take a look at this royally classy G.Skill kit. You’ll find cheaper RAM, but you won’t find much better.”

What a miserable bunch, you all must be fun at parties.

I’m all in support of buying now, after waiting many months, and enjoying now. Rather than waiting with baited breathe for the next shiny and out of stock waiting x weeks/months in the future.

I assure you, I am most definitely not fun at parties. Not trying to crap on your parade. That particular memory just always seemed rather excessive to me. But I’m not the blingy type. If that’s your thing, have a blast.

I liked your story, btw.

You got a PC from the ghost of Michael Jackson?

No worries my Friend :)

It is a bit garish (i didn’t even notice the special Royal trim) and wasn’t my first choice but they had limited options and the reviews and pricing were exceptional. Oh well my daughter will love it:P

I am THE MJ.

Jordan and Jackson got nothin on me ;)

RGB makes the RAM faster, this is a known fact.

Is that all RAM or just Ork RAM?
