Oh, very cool. Amazon only had the S model in silver (with the trademark hideous brown fan) but it looks nice bathed in blue LEDs anyway.

There are rooms in my flat smaller than your heatsinks :)

LOL yeah, it’s huge. I actually took a pic of it last year when I did the build.

Useful link for rubbing in our faces, those with 3080s:

Props to Best Buy. It took them a long time to get restocks, but they were super on-the-ball with charging & shipping (if you could get one at all). Mine is already with UPS and due at home on Tuesday next.

A few comments from my experience:

The NVidia Snatcher bot was key because it was the first thing that alerted. The Discord channel we mentioned upthread should theoretically do the same job without your having to run / manage the tool, but it has missed the last few cards so may not be the best way right now. Using that script for weeks has also already blacklisted me (don’t know if MAC address or IP) at some stores. So I tethered the machine to my phone over LTE for the transaction & that worked where previous attempts without that step had not.

I DON’T know for sure that Best Buy is blacklisting, but I KNOW that Newegg is (because I tested), so be aware and act accordingly.

Now I need to start (re)reading x570 and RAM and cooler reviews so that I can get my hands on those parts ahead of the Nov 5 AMD release.

Best of luck to everyone still working at getting a 30x0!

Mine comes Wednesday. My overpriced EVGA power cable comes Friday. My PC is stupid heavy…so I get to pet and take glamorous photos of the card for two days.

TSMC’s 7nm process is really, really good. That’s good news.

I bet there’s a definite cost premium to going with TSMC over Samsung.

I’m surprised TSMC has any bandwidth.

From what MLID said a while back, if they do, it could be because AMD is moving to the 5nm node. But I understood that to be later in the year. Honestly not sure I buy this whole thing about them being frustrated with yields. Shouldn’t they have known what yields would be?

I suspect they were aware of potential yield issues as it’s no secret that Samsung sucks but combined with covid MFR issues have prolly made it worse. It’s also an easy scapegoat. My understanding is they may use mfr slots they already had with TSMC for something else and switch it over to this.

Webstoring is hard.

It’s so pretty. And strangely heavy.

Motherfucker. 204 on a waiting list :/

Nice! Don’t forget to, uh, plug it in!

Yes, it’s ridiculously heavy & making me wonder if I need to order a bracket of some kind.

I did! With the EVGA cable even.

I got this guy. Seems to work fine, very well made. The bottom is magnetic to stick to your case bottom and you just basically screw it in to prop up where you need it.
