That GPU brace is missing a critical characteristic…

Also they make one with RGB led lighting, for faster superior support.

@mono and me are on the same way of thinking here!

JINX!

I checked out the uphere brackets but the pole style ones do a better job. No RGB is of course a huge bonus.

I’m considering filling the case with green LEDs now. #TeamGreen

Huh. Thanks. I’m kind of surprised that the pressure-lock screws do a meaningfully good job of holding the card.

… but i do appreciate the lack of bling and aerospace aluminum construction :-)

My MSI card included a support bracket. Of course, CyberPowerPC didn’t actually install it, but at least they included it, unlike the motherboard accessories they hung on to.

Also, this is where I ended up on the RGB scale. I think it’s only 33% speed enhanced vs the full color range.

I wouldn’t know if I was sucking or blowing :/

Thats the color setting for better teammates in online gaming.

I was very very close to buying one of EVGA’s B-Stock 2080 Super for $460 yesterday, as it’s clear the 3070s are going to be terrible hard to get for a long time, and it should be a decent upgrade from my 1080. Unfortunately I hesitated just long enough to miss out.

Who knows, it may have you done you a favor! Maybe AMD has a Big Navi card that clocks the 3070 in terms of price/performance and that cuts demand. :)

When is the AMD event?

According to Moore’s Law is Dead supply will improve significantly in November, with 3070s ample. I believe it, perhaps mostly out of wishful thinking!

Oct 28.

What waiting list?

To summarize, there are no yield issues. NVidia has hoarded gddr6x chips and is artificially constraining supply in order to stimulate demand and will flood the market with supply when Big Navi launches, all the while claiming there will be supply issues until next year.

3070 is launching a day after Big Navi so they can make a price change if necessary. 3070 cards will be plentiful.

It sounds like a conspiracy theory, but wasn’t he the guy who pegged exactly how the initial launch was going to go a couple of days beforehand?

I have no idea about his track record before September 2020, but my impression is he has been a few weeks ahead of predicting what would happen with the 30xx launch, specs, issues, supply, etc. I’m cautiously optimistic on 3070 supply based on what he’s saying.

I don’t understand why Nvidia would want to do this. Why not sell them now when there’s no competition? Instead they hoard to counter a future launch where they may have to cut prices?

It’s conspiracy stuff, and he was not particularly accurate in his predictions.

His conspiracy theory is Nvidia is very sensitive to how Turing was accurately seen as overpriced sidegrades and held back stock for september and october because they’re offering AIBs a $50 rebate on all cards sold in those months. This makes early purchases cheaper than later ones, and the “real” price floor of the 3080 is going to be $750.
