One more thing!

Isn’t this gorgeous, she says, holding something that looks like every AIB ever.

Best in class graphic card finally from AMD at $999

6900XT $999. But it’s a 3090 competitor.

Just snipped this comparison picture so I can compare at my leisure:

I’d still take a 3080 over that, but it’s a damn sight more appealing than a 3090.

Nov. 18 for the 6800s. Wonder when pre-orders go live?

I saw the 6800 comparison (to the 2080Ti, heh). Did I miss the 6800 XT performance comparisons? I hopped in late.

Yeah, it’s really good.

So those benchmarks are assuming you have the latest Ryzen (ā€œsmart access memoryā€)?

That comparison does seem to include ā€˜Rage Mode’ and the… other thing. Need to rewatch to find out what that and Smart Access Memory are again.

Like I said earlier, it really depends on availability. If you can actually buy a 6800XT and the 3080s remain unavailable, they’ll sell a ton of 'em. Otherwise I would definitely get a 3080.

The 6800 is a much more interesting product, offering a 20% performance gain over the 3070 for $80.

I’m still kinda shocked they didn’t have a response to DLSS.

They mentioned ā€œwe are already working on a Super Resolution featureā€, which I took to mean, ā€œwe don’t have anything to compete with DLSS, but are working on it, maybeā€.

I couldn’t watch too closely due to pesky work. What’s ā€˜Rage’ mode?

The benchmarks for Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 4K from that chart @Rock8man posted are akin to the numbers on a 3080 w/ DLSS.

No DLSS, no Gsync (I have a gsync display)? And my experience (and seeing news about) driver support from AMD make this a pass. I do like the way the CPU’s look and could see myself moving from Intel to AMD for a future build (I just got an i9 last year, it’ll be awhile) but I’m pretty happy to have picked up a 3080 based on what I’m reading here.

I like the 6800 exists though, for when I’m building ā€œbudgetā€ gaming rigs for people. An easy recommendation sounds like.

Yeah, I would love to buy Radeon again (despite reports of problems in recent years), but no DLSS competitor makes it a very hard sell.

Rage mode is their one button press overclocking feature.

I’m all in on AMD this generation but that is only because I am getting the new consoles.

I didn’t ask for a selfie, Alex.
