Yeah! I was such a big AMD fan back in the Athlon days but Intel has just been so damn good once they come out with the Core 2 Duo. That CPU was amazing when I got it. AMD has been playing catch-up ever since… and now they finally have! Going to be building an AMD (CPU, I’m still not touching their GPUs yet) PC here soon. Just waiting on part availability of the 3080, basically.
Expecting I’ll likely have the 5900X before I get whatever GPU to match with it, so I’ll have a massively lopsided system until then (pairing with my soon-to-be-put-out-to-pasture/multi-media machine GTX 970).
Thats like getting a fancy yacht and then only having oars as the method of propulsion. :D
LMAO - so true. I think I may do some benchmarks just to compare the differences.
I could end up doing the same. Anxious to put the new build together one cpus are available next week. Might roll with the 1070 until I can get a 3070.

Until Friday my work system was running a Core i9 9900K with a GeForce GTX 660. So I totally get it.
If I hadn’t found that 10900K bundle with the 3080, I’d 100% go AMD for both CPU and GPU next generation. Alas, timing lands me in the Intel/Nvidia camp for both our family PCs until the next generation. AMD’s looking impressive on both GPU and CPU fronts.

10900K isn’t exactly garbage, nothing to be upset about!

I would be a bit iffy about the lack of PCIe 4 support for 10900K. It does nothing right now but in future maybe something will require the bandwith.
But then 11 gen rocket lake won’t be available until next year, and I kinda doubt it is easy to get the first batch of Zen 3 anyway. There is also a QC question with anything new.
You spent all that money and haven’t filled your case with tons of gaudy RGB lighting? Fail.
I feel like there is alot of RGB in there, I request a night time photo of the inside !

@kadath you could secret santa it ;) but id advise against sending it abroad because of taxes and stuff.

Could I ask how you acquired them?

Reading up on NVidia’s DLSS, they stress it is mostly for 4k resolutions where the pixel count is high enough to provide the best benefit. Does anyone know if the fps improvement is all that great for lower resolutions like 2560 x 1440?

Lawls it’s more than just RGB tho there is plenty of that too…
That might be the fastest PC I’ve ever seen!

As long as you’re GPU limited, it helps. And if you’re using RT, you’re always GPU limited. It pretty much doubled my framerate in Control at 1080p

DLSS2 works great at 1440p and 1080p.
Asus seems to have gotten quite a few Tuf 3070s into the hands of reviewers, but haven’t seen any for sale anywhere 😕
